88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 bytemesis (223) Sunnyvale, California | May 23, 2013 Dinner stop on my first night in town. Great taplist, including a couple of hill farmstead selections, and the dry aged beef burger was awesome, if expensive as all hell. Service was impeccable. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 jercraigs (234) Toronto, Ontario | May 9, 2013 2013-04-28. Had lunch at Farmhouse where we had some AMAZING soups (I had a rich VT Cheddar soup, and Mabel had the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. Not sure what made it so good but it was great!), some good but less amazing sandwiches and some beers. Pretty solid taplist has lots of good stuff. Not a ton of "Oh wow!" stuff while we were there but enough that we came back again for more drinks the next night. Atmosphere is nice, a bit family restaurantish but enjoyable. The bathrooms here were kind of disgusting, they looked clean but there was an aroma in both the men’s and women’s washrooms that likely indicates an issue with their cleaning routine. Nice patio out front was quite busy on a sunny spring day. Service was friendly and attentive. Well worth a stop while in town.
| 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 italarican (35) Ottawa, Ontario | April 5, 2013 The food is the Hill Farmstead of food: there’s something clean, pure, and awesome about it. I was raving about my turkey burger. Think about that. A turkey burger. Beer list is expansive with lots of Vermont and outside breweries represented. My waitress offered samples of beers I was asking about without my even asking. I’d go for a meal and beer anytime I was in the area. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 AirForceHops (77) Epping, New Hampshire | March 28, 2013 Stopped in for Brunch on calm Sunday afternoon. The draft list was very nice. Mikkeller, Hill Farmstead, Lawsons Finest, Sixpoint and a few other top notch breweries. My breakfast sandwich and my buddies French toast were both excellent. You for sure make it a point to stop here when in Burlington. I will stop here first before going anywhere else in my next trip to this city. Any beer geek can find something they have not had or something on draft you may have only had in a bottle or can. They also have a nice looking outside patio for when the weather is manageable. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 adamjackson (112) Lyme, New Hampshire | February 21, 2013 Love their draft list, excellent locally sourced food, okay bottle list and they are always doing special events like tap takeovers with hill farmstead. Can be busy on the weekends so mid-week is best. The #1 restaurant in burlington for beer lovers. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 salvaticas (7) , | December 28, 2012 Amazing. Especially considering relative to the area. Hill Farmstead distributes more to here than anywhere else. Very well curated tap list. 24 on tap downstairs. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 chronictonic (49) Oreland, Pennsylvania | October 19, 2012 Went here for dinner last weekend. No reservations accepted - 2 hour wait (ugh). Called around to a few other places nearby, all were 1:30 - 2 hour wait (apparently no one takes reservations in Burlington. Fucking hipsters). Finally get our table - very loud and crowded. Sitting in our booth we had people leaning in over us and surrounding our booth while trying to get beers at the bar. Couple times I thought a server was going to drop his/her tray on our table because of the crowd. Small, expensive burgers - but very VERY good burgers. Would definitely revisit next time in VT but not at a peak crowded time. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | October 13, 2012 Gorgeous beer board with intelligent selections from New England and abroad (only quality). Food I had for lunch was good, but nothing special (squash sandwich) and the menu essentially made up of burgers wasn’t especially appealing to me. However, the cheese display (and beer selection) made up for it pretty quickly. This and American Flatbread are now my 2 must-visit spots in Burlington since they are so far ahead of other in-town establishments. |
