Visited on Saturday 26/09/15 around 9pm for the Rugby World Cup game as much as the ticks. Had previously visitied in 2006. The place was booming but we managed to pinch a table that didn’t have the greatest view of the rugby. The place is set up for live sports and a Spanish football game was being shown upstairs with multiple screens both large and small on each level. Beer wise they brew their own which are of an English theme and on cask in the most part ... all a bit twiggy and basic but I’ve had worse. We also came across a few Belgian and Spanish ticks in bottle. The decoration here is a little tired, kind of stuck in the 90’s old skool US brewpub, dark with lots of wood. Service wasn’t bad bearing in mind the crowds. Overall worth a visit for a ticker to pick off their own brews but don’t be expecting anything great.

Expansive brewpub. Good atmosphere here although it was an eye opener to see how many Dutch peeps have Welsh roots, or so it seems as they were all cheering for Wales against England in the World Cup Egg Chase. 7 home brews on offer and to be frank they are a bit home brewish. Competent, mostly clean but all lacking flavour, especially the stronger ones here. The bottle list gave up a few ticks including some obscure Spanish beers. Food was decent. Staff friendly. Nice place. Could be great if the beers could be (much) improved and varied.

Last visited in September 2014. Big "English pub" with a central location. To be honest I tend to avoid places like this when I’m abroad - faux englishness is not generally what I’m looking for. But it is a brewpub so merits a look. The beers are English-style too and I’ve generally found them rather mediocre. The same beers were on offer both times I’ve visited but it looks like they do vary the range a bit so I may have just been unlucky. Definitely worth one visit if you wants the ticks but I wouldn’t bother to go back in the absence of something new for me.

Easy to enough to find & a short tram ride from Den Haag central station. Place looks like a Belgian UK-style bar as opposed to a British pub. Looks a bit worn by use. Place had quite a few kids in it or more like a big family that had their children running around half the place, bumping a few times into my table, blowing bubbles,… Not sure if this is usual or not, I have nothing against children but you shouldn’t take like 3 tables spread across a huge bar & move your kids around all of the time & intrude into my space. Not sure if the bar can do a lot about this or whether it is a normal sight. Anyway they had 7 of their own beers on tap, UK-style & on cask. 4 € only to try shot glass sized portions of them which is a great deal if you are into ticking. Beers were honestly rubbish in my opinion, all safe for one had notes of butter & vegetables which I got the impression they think is okay because they are cask,… Glad that I only had to do a couple of cl. Because doing ˝ pint of these wouldn’t be fun. They had a bunch of other beers there at what looked like normal NL prizes to me. Nothing really interesting or unusual, decent or even good beers but selection just seemed random and a bit bland with occasionally lucky guesses. Seeing Brooklyn Lager was quite interesting. Audience just seemed like locals who are more into macro pale lager than anything which might explain decent amount of people drinking their beers. Service was standard, nothing special but nothing to complain either about. Food saved the experience a bit for me, they actually had a clearly label vegan main dish on the menu – no idea how common this is in the NL – I was quite happy. Food was rather nice, quite good potatoes & a paprika stuffed with well-done champignons. This might suffice for a dish & one beer & the ticks.

As I walked up to the entrance, loud sounds were permeating the walls and windows, but I continued inside. There are a few tables on the main level but when football (European that is) is on, those and the bar area are quite crowded. There is seating upstairs but no bar service until 8:00 PM. I loitered around a bit sampling various beers from the lengthy list (primarily Netherlands beers). As soon as a couple abandoned their small table I took it and continued on with my beers and then food. The food was fresh and I enjoyed the stuffed pepper alongside my beers. I tried a couple house beers and they were pretty good. The service was fairly prompt.

Very big English-style pub. I can sometimes be very crowded and noisy. Look slike a typical pub, service is jut OK because of the big crowd, they have some nice bottles and standard taps, but also have their own beer which ranges from disgusting poison to quite drinkable. Decent enough if you’re in the area.

Visited in september 2014, with beery friends. Placed in the city center, rather easy to find. Huge place, lots of seatings, both inside and outside. They do samples ( very, very small ones ). The beers were not served in the best condition, but will give it a go another time, being in the area..

Definitely a place I would go to again. Their own beer is ok, but extra credit for being cask ales. Apart from their own beer their selection of Dutch bottles is great. Little pricy for those but worth it. Location als great.

Very large place right next to the Grote Kerk downtown Den Haag. Typical English pub atmosphere, nice long bar and lots of seating. They serve their own beers, all English style ales on cask. They also have the typical macro’s on tap and a 200+ long bottle list. The beers were OK, not stellar but I’ve had much worse. The prices for the food and for their own beers were average, didn’t check the bottle list. Service was quite good, which was a nice plus. I’d recommend it to travelers in town.
