Planned a visit here when going to a conference in Austin - ended up paying 3 visits - 50+ beers available on tap with a nice ambiance - a bit hipster for my liking, but I’ll take that over music blasting and mediocre taps. Dark atmosphere with a TV off in the corner and a couple dart boards...the reason to come here is the beer, and rightfully so. Was stoked to try some local beers, and their selection of Live Oak, 512 and other was incredible. Also enjoyed some Rahr BB Winter Warmer and DFH 90 minute. Didn’t eat here, but not much of a food selection. Prices good by my standards (though I’m from Chicagoland). You probably don’t want to wait at a table to be served, they really don’t make the rounds, even when it isn’t busy, but that’s not a big deal in my mind. Would I go back again...I went here 3 times in 4 days, so I guess the answer is ’yes’ - hopefully I make it back here someday!

Cool little pub with a nice so deck out back. Huge wall of taps, a couple of cask beer. Never noticed anything particularly rare, but lots to choose from. Great little place.

A good selection of beer, and I enjoyed talking to the bartender about beer. He was very knowledgable.

This place has a great selection if your downtown, but expect a downtown tab as well. Definitely worth checking out

The Austin version has a pretty decent layout. It was a little rainy the day we went to Ginger Man, but it looked there was a nice outdoor area for nice weather. I thought the selection was pretty good. They had a lot of TX breweries, which was nice for me, as that is what I wanted to be trying. It didn’t look like they had anything super rare or special, but they did have a decent selection of local stuff, and some national/international options as well. It wasn’t super crowded when we visited, but the service was only OK. Located near by to our hotel, which was a nice plus. Seems to be one of the best beer spots in the area.

I really like the patio out back if the weather is decent, helps you get away from the usually packed interior. This is still my favorite place in Austin to drink beer, mostly because of the selection and the atmosphere. The prices are average.

Good atomosphere both inside and outside on the patio. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accomodating. Also, they have an alright selection of beers outside Texas. The happy hours are decent. Definitely a solid local beer bar.

I definitely enjoy the Gingerman, and it’s central downtown location makes it a very convenient after work joint. Their beer selection is top notch, especially for Texas. I love the atmosphere, especially the beer garden, though I do miss the big trees of the old back yard (though not the birds!). The only downsides of this place are the attitude of the bartenders, some of which embody everything people dislike about beer snobs, and the prices (primarily because they can take you by surprise as they aren’t all printed on the menu).

Best craft beer place in downtown Austin. 50 or so taps but very few bottles (if any). Large selection of very good local craft brews from (512), Live Oak, Saint Arnold’s and Real Ales and a scattering of top notch brews from elsewhere. Practically no food menu but the pretzels are OK. Hangout for the local craft beer geeks so usually some great brew conversation.

Great Pub! One of the best selections in town (along with the Draught House), and a great staff that is professional and knowledgeable. Great crowd (unlike the Flying Saucer, which gets pretty lousy). The food is weak, when they have not run out of something, what they do have is mediocre. But the beer selection is outstanding and they have a great beer garden. Really comfortable, great place to talk with friends, and to drink beer. They usually have some beer in firkins as well, it is always nice to get a pint of a real ale (especially when it is a Real Ale real ale!.
