Online ordering is outstanding, pricing is very reasonable and shipping is prompt!! Zach and Cameron are superb beer salesmen. Both have one helluva lot of beer knowledge and are willing to share this info anytime I call. Keep up the good work and keep the brews flowing!!
This is for an online order!
Online Inventory is up to date and easy to search. You email them your order, they come back with prices and suggest you order in 3, 6 and 12 bottle quantities to make shipping easier. They give a quote + shipping over email. If youíre a new customer, you have to call them to give your credit card number and email a photo of your State ID to verify youíre 21. Once they know you, you can email in orders.
Very fast! I ordered and 30 minutes later, the beer shipped to be delivered in 4 days at my doorstep. They emailed me a tracking number and everything. VERY impressive.
This is not the biggest store out there, but the selection is world class. Every inch of the store is covered with bottles, glassware, cooler front or the growler station. Both Cam and Zak take the time to help if you need assistance. Taps are always flowing with local and some very hard to come by beers. The foreign selection has some of the most esoteric beers I have seen. They also have a selection of gluten-free beer. There is cider and mead available for those that care to venture outside the bottle. They have started shipping as well.
I love this place! The staff is the most knowledgable that Iíve ever encountered. Cameron is a walking beer encyclopedia. Ask him about a style & heíll give you brewery histories, brewing styles and walk you around the store to point you in the direction of some esoteric stuff that youíd never have glanced at otherwise. Of course, this also means that I canít get out of the place without spending half my paycheck, but at least it keeps my beer cellar looking interesting! The selection here is incredible, especially their wide variety of international beers. And the growler station may very well be the best one in town. They also have weekly free tastings every Thursday. I unfortunately never get to go to those because I work evenings but when I read their weekly newsletters, Iím constantly jealous of everyone that gets to attend. Parking right near the store can be tricky since itís in the heart of downtown, but GBX will give you a parking pass that allows you to park in any of the cityís paid lots for free for 30 minutes. Pretty great.
This is the place. The service is top flight and the selection cannot be beat. Weekly tastings are accompanied by education on styles and brewery history. Some tastings are even done with local food shops to demonstrate proper pairings. The shop is also dog friendly. Located in the heart of downtown Greenville, itís easy to find. Itís also next door to Greenvilleís best beer bar. You really need to stop in and visit if youíre in town.
This place can be a pain in the arse to find, but well worth the effort. Parking is best in one of the nearby garages - I lucked out and parked in front, but could stay only 15 minutes. Service is first-rate - the fellow pointed me straight to some excellent South Carolina brews, and managed to get me out in time. He even came after me when I left my oh-so-important beers tried list hardcopy behind - extra point there! Prices appear to be reasonable. I hope that next time I visit Greenville I can spend more time in this great beer boutique.
I have visited the Greenville Beer Exchange somewhat regularly since last summer as it is on my way from Atlanta to Charlotte and I make a point to stop in every time I go to see the the folks. The selection is absolutely fantastic and is organized in a way that it is quite easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The guys who run the shop, Zach and Cameron, are extremely knowledgeable about their stock and have helped me on a number of occasions to choose beer for not only myself but my trading partners and mother as well. (My mother loves the funk and there is never a short supply or new things to try) In addition to the wonderful selection and employees, the fact that the shop is dog friendly is a huge plus for me. As I stated earlier, I am normally traveling when I visit the shop so itís nice that I can bring my giant lab in with me to stretch his legs. All in all, this is a world class beer shop that should be a must stop for anyone passing through the area.
What can I say that hasnít been said...this place rocks. Walked out with 3+ cases of unrated beer (mix of locals on Imports I havenít seen) - for me, thatís huge! Guys are very helpful...if this place was local to me, I would come here every week.
