Cool as all hell. Think 1970ís bowling alle in stroudsberg PA - with a working Dome Hockey game. Good selecton of american crafts.

Hello from the Gutter! I was rocking out to Overkill in my head all the way over here from Dirck The Norseman. I was fully expecting a dingy bar with awesome music and a few good taps ala Toronado SF or Delilahís in Chicago, but what I found was a bowling alley. Thatís cool too I suppose. Throwing a couple frames at a place that serves good beer has been on my bucket list for some time now and I had the chance in Minneapolis but I was short on time. I didnít end up bowling here either since I wanted to get to Torst for my rating number 1200 before it got too late. So while looking at the tap list (true story) I inquired about Overkill and Hello from the Gutter. Turns out that the song is on the regular playlist and had actually just played a few minutes before my arrival. Metal is a staple here. Hmm. My kind of place. I drew a number for a lane (the dozen or so lanes are in the next room over), grabbed a pint, and hung out at one of the wooden booths for about 10 minutes. Well I was the next number and there was an open lane but no one changed the number. I asked at the desk and they said to just wait. I decided no, I wasnít going to wait so I gave them the number back and continued on my merry way.
The service at the bar was decent as were the prices and selection. They have about a dozen taps and of those about half are things you might want to drink. I didnít see anything from my top 10 beers but I did find something to drink. So if youíre into dive bars and you want to bowl and have a good beer this is the place for you. I wouldnít call this a family destination. I didnít ask but itís likely 21+ even in the bowling area anyway.

Cool dive spot. Was there to play a show so didnít partake in the bowling but it didnít seem too crazy for a Friday night. Decent selection with some solid basic craft stuff. Prices seemed in line for Brooklyn. Solid venue, bowling setup seems cool. Probably better than the sum of its parts.

This is a rather nostalgic place for me. In 2011, early in the afternoon when the place was pretty empty and it was just me and my then-boyfriend in the alleys, over a pitcher of Founders Porter I bowled a strike and my now-husband proposed to me. Anyway, this is a grungy sort of bowling alley in Williamsburg. Probably the best beer list of any bowling alley, obviously not a crazy beer destination. Gets crowded at night, so best to come early. Pricey, but thatís what is expected in NYC. I think itís worth a stop, and Iím sure my husband would agree :-)

Awesome bowling alley. Unless you live here you probably havenít been to one this cool, or with this good of beer. Itís not really a beer spot but the beer they have is fantastic for any bowling alley I have to imagine.

Pretty good spot. Reminded me of some of the bars I frequented with the family back home in MN (though lacking the authenticity). Decent beer selection at decent prices. Plenty of space for a place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I will definitely be visiting this spot again.

Great place for bowling AND beer. The owners of this place work hard to cultivate a vintage feel and I would say they are successful. The lanes themselves are nice, unpretentious, attractive and clean. The bar section is decorated with lots of old beer signs and other ephemera. The beer lineup is strong, with an emphasis on American craft. The draught beers tend not to beer extremely rare but are all extremely solid. There is also a decent bottle list that will have some goodies on it. Last time I was there this list included AleSmith YuleSmith, Schlafly Oak-Aged Imperial Stout, Rogue Double Dead Guy and others. The experience could get a bit pricey, but I think most beer drinkers/bowlers would agree the Gutter is an experience worth having.

arrive at 1:30 am and there are still some people hanging here. itís in the middle of a lot of empty warehouses and there is a bowling alley next to the bar. the selection of beer is good but not great, quite an interest place.

The concept itself means that you need to come at least once. With a couple of friends, itís tough to imagine a better time. The dozen or so taps were not quite as spectacular as Iíd hoped compared to the Barcade the day I went, but you canít spit on a fresh Prima Pils. It comes out a bit expensive though if you want to bowl, at 7$ a game per person, you can spend an easy 30$ in an hour. There seems to be frequent lineups as well, but it was not too bad when I visited. Globally a place youíll definitely want to see, but more for the context than the actual beer list and atmosphere. The staff appeared knoeledgeable and helpful though.
