Part of the Clyde’s chain of restaurants: Hamilton is their new 24 place below a hotel in the DC business district in downtown. Walking distance from Penn Social, Gordon Biersch, District Chophouse, Iron Horse Tap Room, RFD. Interior is fancier Clyde’s style, older age clientele, decent bar food like buffalo wings. Tap list was pretty poor. Maybe 10 taps but stuff like Heavy Seas, Abita, maybe one DC Brau and one 3 Stars. Everything else was macro like Boddington’s, Guinness, Stella, Blue Moon, Leinenkugels, Yuengling. Didn’t see anything of interest. I would say this bar is about 10-20% beer focused and 80% liquor. Within DC, I wouldn’t necessarily give this place a ratebeer entry.

Really nice and huge bar, great for after work drinks. Not a great selection of beer but enough to choose from. Nice staff.

This place, two blocks from the White House, is remarkable for two things: first, it’s one of the very few bars and restaurants open 24 hours a day in DC; and second, this entry will drive sebletitje crazy, because it’s a hotel bar. But it’s hard to beat 20 taps in downtown DC at any time, let alone at 4 AM, even though a handful of taps are devoted to macros. Micros included stuff from Brooklyn, Bell’s, DC Brau, Troegs, Heavy Seas and more. Food is amazing, and not as pricey as you would expect. Worth a look.
