Don’t you love it when a place has the highest rating in the area, and you go there and it actually lives up to it? We went here for brunch. It was great. There were two guys playing live music. The beer list was really amazing. The service was nice and knowledgeable but not overbearing. If you like beer and are in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, this is a MUST visit.

A bit more sophisticated and much care given to the customer. I was impressed with the beer selection on tap and in the bottle and was much more impressed with the whiskey menu. The food was amazing, much better than I expected. The menu was modern and a nice variety without being afraid to do daring things. I went to heaven while eating my short rib dinner and beet salad. The bartender even let us pick our own 5 beers for a custom flight. My favorite of the night was the Somersby cider.

Great cozy little place with a great beer selection. Lots of MN and WI beers plus other top quality ones from around the country and Belgium. Food is also awesome, having the Wild Boar Meatloaf now. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area.

Re-rate: Two of my original gripes have been rectified; I won’t take credit this time, no more smoking and an awesome outdoor patio. The tap selection is also expanded and dirty tap line issues that plagued them early on are a distant memory. Food menu is fit for foodies, and is unique. Bar seating is limited so during the Winter when the patio is shut down good luck finding a place to sit unless you plan to eat in the dining room. One of the top 5 tap lists in the Twin Cities, and perhaps even top 1-2. Original: This place is brand new, having opened in early December. It is owned by the same folks that own the Muddy Pig, just down the street. The decision to start another beer bar so close to another one you own is a little strange, but it makes for a very convenient 1-2 punch for good beer lovers and of course expands the variety that can be served between the two places. The one big negative is that smoking is allowed. Hopefully they have an outdoor patio planned so that those of us that want to live past our 60’s can enjoy beer safely. The draft and bottle selections are staggering and appear to be fluid. They were out of the Hair of the Dog Doggy Claws (which I later that evening had at Barley John’s) but they did have Hair of the Dog Fred on tap, which was exquisite. Nice interior other than the smoke haze. Easily the best beer bar I’ve ever been to. Tonnes of great taps, good food, what more can I say that hasn’t been said already. Can’t wait to go back.

Cool building and atmosphere. Super nice bartenders. Wings were pretty good. Nice beer selection.

Big beer menu, impossible to not find something you would like/want. I was impressed with the selection. Quick service. Dry rubbed wings were excellent.

This is a fantastic beer bar in St. Paul. Not only do they have 70+ taps of diverse selection of (mostly American) craft beers, but the food is also fantastic. Try the duck burger..and poutine (only place in the US I’ve seen it).

Visited the Happy Gnome while in town for the weekend. Happy Gnome has a very nice selection of tap beers. Around 40 taps, with a mixture of Minnesota breweries and national breweries.
