A wonderful place, really a great little place in St. Paul, in the nice cathedral hill neighborhood.

This is one of my favorite places to go get beer nearby the apartment. The selection is absolutely fantastic and changes daily so there is never a shortage of new beers to investigate. The spirits menu is great, too, with lots of good old-school mixed drinks, whiskeys, and Scotches on hand. Food is really decent, too. Iíve had a number of good meals here. There arenít any great deals here, but considering their buying practices, it makes sense (they canít do $3 beer because they donít buy giant orders of Bud and Miller -- if you focus on the small guys itís going to cost you). Most of the servers are very pleasant and the bartenders know their beer if you can get them at a slow moment (I suggest going later on a weeknight). The patio outside is great and the inside is just fine.

My favorite place to drink beer. Especially out on the patio in the summer. Great selection 70 taps + 200 plus bottles= Good times! The food is great, and you have to try the cheese. They also have many events throughout the year like Firkin Fest!

The Happy Gnome is an awesome bar, and one of the best places to get a beer in the Twin Cities. The selection of beers on tap is probably the best in the cities. The food is excellent, but more upscale than what I usually want when Iím out drinking a couple beers. It is a bit pricey, but I think you get what you pay for in this case. If you avoid the food, it is much more reasonable. The service is generally good, but I have run into a few strange servers. On the inside the place looks like many other upscale bars, but gets lots of points for the awesome deck area outside. They also hold some great events, tastings, beer dinners etc. Highly recommended.

My favorite place to get a beer in the cities! Excellent and varied taps - over 30. Great feel to it - slightly older crowd- probably due to their pricier dinner menu- but food is very good for a bar. Great patio in the summer, but service is slower out there.

What a great flipping meal. I was being a jerk and asked the server what beer would they pair with my meal. They paired my appetizer and entree. Shut my big fat mouth and dip into the wallet.

Taken to this place by friends in Minneapolis during a 5 hour layover at the airport. Thanks guys! Lots of great beers on tap. I had Tyranena Pumpkin Spice and Summit Oatmeal Stout from the cask becasue I hadnít had them before.. We had dinner and the food was very good. Very cool restaurant/pub.

I made my first appearance this afternoon, a Saturday at 3:00 PM. The place was quite busy for the rather off hour. I was able to find a string of 3 empty bar stools so that I could sit without having to establish territory. The bar tender was really harried with the situation, since she was getting hit with lots of orders. She was nice enough about it. I ordered a Surly 16 Grit and one of the small plates, a rather outstanding Braised Elk Tartlet. I then followed up with a Surly Furious. The service got better as the rush died down. The atmosphere is great, pub like, and the food I tried was awesome. I will return.

Iíve only been here twice so far but I have to say both experiences have been great. The selection they have on tap is wonderful. They even had Surly Darkness in March. I hear sometimes they have problems with the taps and Iím canít say whether that is true or not but I did have a Surly Mild it it tasted gross, hopefully not how it was supposed too. It is more expensive but the fact that they have an amazing tap selection and an even more incredibly extensive bottle selection makes it worth it. I like the food too. Thereís lots of butter in everything but it goes well with beer.
