Visited during Ohio Beer Week 2014. Simple place. High ceilings. A flatscreen TV or two. Tall tables with tall chairs with no backs on them. There was decent seating at the bar. The selection was pretty good, but that may have been because it was OBW. Comfortable place. Nothing special. Nothing annoying. No food I think, but I wasnít looking for any. I paid no attention to the prices. The bartenders were as friendly as they had to be. Metered parking garage about a block away.

Next door to The Pub. This reminded me a lot of the bars I used to frequent in college. College dive bar, filled with college types, and there was some tomfoolery going on. Pretty bar bones, a few tables, Golden Tee machine, an upstairs seating area I did not investigate. No food. 8 taps, but most of the stuff on had kicked by the time I got there. 4 on, and I got a pint which was pretty expensive but two free samples of decent size. All locals beers on, but given the macro neon signs in the win. Bartender was attentive despite being fairly busy. Street parking as far as I could tell.

(Visited 06/2013 during Ohio Brew Week): The J Bar is located on Court Street and State. Street parking and a metered garage nearby.

The interior is open, with the red-topped bar on the left side and table seating on the right. Brick interior with hanging lights from a black ceiling. There is a TB above the bar, and a view of the taps.

As for the beers, during OBW the 8 or so taps were taken over by Triple Digit/Listermann. Flights were available, but I donít know if that is the norm outside of OBW.

Service at the bar was friendly, and we were served by both J Bar staff and Listermann brewers.

Food is not served at this bar.

Overall this is not necessarily a bar I would visit had they not been featuring Ohio beers, but I would give it a shot next OBW.

Stopped in on a Saturday Afternoon and a Sunday morning during Ohio Brew Week. Street parking only. They do not serve food. When I arrived Saturday, they had 8 taps and a cask from craft breweries and the brewerís rep was behind the bar serving, which was really cool. Service was very good, and the bartender was very knowledgeable. This may not always be the case, but Iím giving them the benefit of the doubt. Atmosphere was pretty cool. Iíll make a point to go back just to see how this place normally functions and to update my review if needed.
