The definitive, no-nonsense artisanal beer pub of Greece. The brews are more than rewarding, service that is both knowledgable beerwise and very attentive to even the slightest details that will increase a customerís enjoyment and of course a very joyful set of local characters that frequent the place. You can almost always spot the (D)odd Englishman sipping at a pint of ale away from olí Blighty! :) Very good atmosphere on big football nights too. Other sports typically displayed at the pubís tv include rugby and boxing. Sometimes local rubgy teams go to the pub to celebrate or to initiate new members and that is always fun to watch. Pleasant outdoor space for smokers and a highly unyielding policy against smoking indoors. Good thing that it serves no food, except for the odd pickled egg. It is a place to do some proper western drinking, not the typically eastern food and wine thing. You can go to the local chippy (there is a very good one) after your session in the pub. Certain new american style brews from greek artisanal microbrewries can only be found on tap at this place so it is strongly recommended for tourists who intend to steer clear of the touristy path of downtown Athens and wish to see how locals live, drink etc in the suburbs. Itís about 15min away from Ag. Paraskevi metro station on foot. Guest beer on tap for a limited number of days and the occasional unplugged gig should be expected too.

A very well hidden secret of Athens. Cozy Irish pub located far away from the center of the city, but worth every mile. I loved the ambiance and the traditional decoration, itís a clean and well organized non-smokerís pub (good for those of us whoíre out there for serious beer testing). Very well trained and extremely friendly staff ready to share tips and suggestions. Impressive variety mainly of UK imports, but also some top class US beers, focusing on microbreweries with only a couple commercial exceptions on tap. A bit expensive compared to other pubs in town, but still worth every penny. Besides, the owner imports some rare to find beers that have no distribution in Greece. I didnít get the chance to eat something from the Localís little brother Bytes and Pints, but thereís always a next time (and a next time and a next time.) Fotis, the owner of the pub, makes you feel at home. Heís very communicative, inviting and friendly, and he clearly knows what heís talking about. Heís most certainly entitled to take pride in his little treasure of a place. No doubt this pub is the best in Athens and most definitely one of the best in Europe. So far, Iíd only compare it with pubs Iíve visited in Edinburgh, Glasgow and, maybe, Amsterdam. If I were living nearby, Iíd only end up in AA meetings or flat broke or, even worse, both hahaha!

Not only they have great beer and a very nice and wide style selection, but you will also listen to great music.
The location couldnít be better to enjoy your beer relaxedly: pedestrian street with shadow, and the inside with a great decoration.

The tap list is definitely impressive at the Local Pub. If you want to try some Greek craft beer they will have a few options, or if you want to try some of the best UK beers those are available too. The atmosphere wasnít great, but it was inviting enough. I would have liked for the beer to be served in glasses other than just a pint or half pint. Prices arenít cheap but considering that these are actual pints Ä7 is quite reasonable. The Local Pub is a journey from the center of Athens, so I could understand not coming here, especially if you have access to some of the impressive options on draft where you live. If you are just searching for Greek craft beer there are better options in the city center. But if you need a bit of Ireland in Athens with a pint of some the best UK brews out there you have found your place.

It took a while to get there from the city centre but it was absolutely worth the troubles. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of international beers. Unfortunately at the time we visited they didnít have more than 2 new Greek beers for me. They used to have collaboration with Septem but not any more. Great food next door (Pints & Bites). A must visit if youíre in Athens and have time.

A superbly nice place. I entered just as they were opening so got to talk with the owner quite a bit, who explained a lot about the history of the bar, craft beer in Greece and the local neighborhood. A super friendly fellow. The selection is very good. Mostly concentrating on Euro-stuff with UK being on the forefront. You can also have food served from the next door beer&grub eatery, Pints & Bites. The prices are a bit steep for halves. Still a very nice place.
