Located at the edge of Old Town, this modern restaurant/bar has 100 tap handles of average to great beers. Everyone should find something they like. Seating for at least 100 patrons at tables or the classy bar. Friendly barkeeps and a nice patio for outdoor seating.
Visited on 10/10/12. GABF Week. (Stop #7 of the day)
A: The atmosphere of the place is a little more upscale and somewhat stuffy. The place is very nice but doesn’t scream beer bar where you would go to watch a game.
Q: A solid selection of CO beers and all were really decent, no dogs or BMC crap.
S: A server was very friendly, answered beer questions with relative ease and prompt...handled our party of 8 very well.
S: 100 craft beers from all over Colorado (except for Lost Abbey Mo Betta Bretta)...best selection I have seen a long time.
F: Food was decent as no one had any complaints, higher quality than most beer bars you go to...even the pizzas were mades with very fresh ingredients.
V: The beers and food were a little pricy as that everything tended to be a buck or two higher here than anywhere else we had been earlier that day (and even for the same beers in some cases).
Overall, a nice finish to the day and a place to check out if you are looking for something a little more quiet and upscale....but not a place you hang out with the guys to watch a game place.
This place is awesome, I only wish it had opened sooner. Too bad I only got to enjoy it for a little while. The selection is awesome and is constantly updated by a giant screen above the bar. The glassware here is unreal, with a different piece for every style. If you are in Fort Collins, this place is a MUST!

100 taps, solid selections with a mostly knowledgeable staff and quality service. Beers prices and pour sizes are reasonable I guess. 2 dollar tasters are nice. The food is pretty good and affordable, especially the pizzas. Breakfast served all day, the biscuits and gravy are tasty! (Note: The food menu has changed since this review) 100 taps is really all you need to know.
trendy craft beer focused bar in Fort Collins near CSU just below Old Town. lots of great craft on tap with a huge multi screen above the bar displaying the current offerings. seems to be a hipster type place. the bar staff seems to know there beer. I’ll be going back next time I’m in town simply because there aren’t too many other spots in town bar wise with as many choices.
Friday night buck wild session with Adnielsen. Nice, kind of high-end feel. Sat at the bar and had plenty of room. The digital draft board is a nice touch. Huge, varied selection. Flights available of any combination. Prices are fair and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great place I’d love to visit again.
The Mayor has a big hipster bar feel. 100 taps are nice and they get some cool beers rotating through. I think a place like Choice City gets better beers at much better prices though with only 38 or so taps. It feels like there is lots to try, but no real beer knowledge there.
The food is good. It’s a limited menu provided by a local cafe, so it’s mostly sandwiches and breakfast foods. It’s tasty and reasonable portions (not monstrous, which I like).
Update: I don’t go here any more due to they way they have treated some friends in the business. I’ve heard the food has changed too, so I changed that to NA. They do have a lot of beers with some interesting ones though.
I’d come here more if I didn’t feel like I was drinking on the set of Kardashian reality TV show. The place is uber-modern and has a TON of beers to choose from. The staff know a thing or two about beer, which helps with deciding. It can get expensive to really get your buzz on, but if you belong on that set with the Kardashians, then you’ve found a great place to drink!
Now that they’ve been open a year, it’s time for a re-review.
I no longer patronize the mayor. Over the last year or so, the quality of service has taken a dive. Last few trips in, it took nearly 20 minutes to get beer to the table. Considered ordering my next beer as the first was delivered.
Servers make educated choices, but not great ones. Sometimes it’s downright impossible to flag a server down.
Selection is still mostly good. Some breweries have gone missing, such as Russian River (there’s a story behind it.) Limited releases at the mayor are becoming more and more scarce.
Crowd is less and less beer people, and more the frat pack crowd. Room is still terribly noisy, and any day of the week after work will require yelling to communicate. Still very much a sterile clean room, for better or worse.
They do a good job keeping beer fresh and cool. Pricing is all over the place, but never truly unreasonable. No complaints in this department.
The owner I simply can’t deal with. Between getting into playboy, and the aforementioned distribution issues, it seems that he has enough money to throw around that he won’t miss me. I still wish him the best. A lot of people still like this place.
