82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Beergeek23322 (28) Chesapeake, Virginia | June 16, 2013 Great store, great selection - something for everyone, wine, beer or booze lover. Good selection of craft brews, both domestic and foreign. Looks like most were sorted by country. Definitely a place to visit when in the area. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 weihenweizen (100) Charleston Area, West Virginia | June 7, 2013| Updated June 11, 2013 In a strip mall with plenty of parking out front. Medium quantity of beer and high quality of beer. I found just under a dozen beer s I have been looking for. Good selection of Mikkeller and other harder to get European beers and pretty selection of american beer. Some beer are in line with other bottle shops and some have quite a mark up. You can get singles of everything in the store, a big plus. They helped find a couple gems I overlooked, so the service is good in my book. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 12/20 Shaftie (7) , Maryland | April 12, 2013| Updated June 11, 2013 Selection is amazing. Best I’ve seen in the state, that being said they’ll gouge the piss out of you, if it’s .rar forget about being it here for a reasonable price. I’ve seen several $40 bottles that are low-count shelf beers. Fuck this type of customer gouging. My business goes elsewhere unless I’m looking for something very niche. | 78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 14/20 ApisAles (47) Greenbelt, Maryland | March 22, 2013| Updated June 11, 2013 Tons of different beers in stock with a nice rotation of seasonals.
You can also pull singles from six packs to make your own which is not that common but which is VERY nice. A high premium is charged per bottle when you do this though, so beware.
This is a re-rate. I fell in love with this place when it first opened a few years ago, but as more and more bottle shops of comparable size and selection have opened up I’ve become increasingly disenchanted with the Pour. The problem is the pricing. I found a bottle of The Bruery Sour in the Rye at a bottle shop about 10 minutes away for$10.99 and the Perfect Pour was charging almost $30. As distribution gets better for more of the smaller breweries, the Pour is losing some of its edge for harder to find beers. There are still some one-off gems that you can only find here, but for more common stuff, you’ll save a boatload of money shopping just about anywhere else. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 TizzleJizzle (17) Garland, Texas | March 21, 2013| Updated June 11, 2013 Located in a strip mall. Looks small from the outside, but has massive amounts of beer, liquor, and wine. They had free samples and the person offering them was very knowledgable about the ingredients. Everyone was friendly and asked if I needed any help. The beer selection was gigantic with beers from all over the world. The US beers were mostly from Maryland, Maine, Delaware, Pennsylvania Vermont, California, and Colorado. The only downfall were their prices. Some beers were just waaayyy over priced, not to mention when u buy singles, they charge extra for each bottle. I got 10 beers (only 1 was a bomber) and paid $60 | 90 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 nearbeer (165) Knoxville, Tennessee | February 22, 2013 It’s in a strip mall and packed to the gills with alcoholic beverages, so who cares about ambiance? The large beer selection and the availability of everything in singles is what makes this place definitely worth a detour if you are in the area. Service was good, with a guy asking if he could help me and then going away when I said "no thanks". Pricing seemed like it might be a bit high; not sure though because I didn’t shop anywhere else in town. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 19/20 acole34 (3) Baltimore, Maryland | February 15, 2013 The perfect pour gets my vote for Best liquor store in the state Of Maryland hands down! only let down are the prices,if their prices where a little cheaper i would give them a prefect score if that was aloud. They do stock those Potato Chip covered nuts though and those are amazing. | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 17/20 devman171 (53) Annapolis , Maryland | February 8, 2013 Nice selection of crafts and imports and rarities. Prices on most is decent but higher on rare beers. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 Dixonian (121) Dallas, Texas | January 11, 2013 Huge store with tons of wine, bourbon, and most importantly beer. Arranged by style, which I love. The beer manager was extremely helpful and knew a lot about their inventory and beer in general. A must stop if in the area. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 mnoud (26) Martinsburg, West Virginia | January 7, 2013 2012.01.05 - My first visit. Plenty of parking. Store is a little tight, but the tradeoff for that is a large selection. I would say this shop dedicated more space (or larger percentage) to craft beer than the typical wine/ beer shop. Selection was very good.
The two things that struck me were they had WAY more Mikkeller than I have seen in one place before, and they had 11.2 or 12oz bottles 4/6 packs of a lotion things I often only see 750ml bottles.
Good selection if De Molen, quite a few Belgians I had not seen elsewhere. First place I saw Old Rasputin barrel aged XIV. Decent selection of mead.
I've read they are super high on prices but I did not notice. My order was about $175. When I got home I compared a few things on the receipt to prices I paid elsewhere and they were in line. Not saying nothing is overpriced but I paid $10 for a bottle of something elsewhere and it was $9.99 at PP.
Definitely worth a repeat visit. |
