The Plough is located about a minutes’ drive north of the Anderson in Fortrose. We stopped past here for lunch during the August bank holiday. At the front there is a tiny traditional bar, and a small, more contemporary dining room at the back of the building. I can imagine this place gets full quickly! They have two cask ales on offer always from small Scottish independents. I was more than happy to find two Cromarty beers on good form during my visit. Food was enjoyable, particularly the seafood chowder & langoustines. Not the world’s biggest choice of beer, but a pleasant place to stop past for lunch and a beer in this neck of the woods!
