Weíve been to beer bars all over the U.S. and in Canada, The Netherlands, and England. None hold a candle to The Porter! The beer selection is top notch and constantly rotating. The food is phenomenal (best Belgian fries in the universe!). The staff is so friendly and kind and remembers our names! If you are a beer geek, the Porter cannot be missed and is worth a special trip.

Nice bar with a decent selection of drafts all charged at a reasonable rate. The vintage stuff is a bit out of line, but they seem to be adding all the time and effort it took to put it in the fridge. Food was great and the server was very friendly.

How have I not reviewed this yet. Iíve been here 3 times and where do I start? The atmosphere is awesome, the beer selection is awesome, the staff has always been friendly. Itís not the roomiest place but it has enough space. Iím at a loss to say anything bad about it. Itís not the #1 beer bar in US for nothing.

Visiting on a Sunday in Atlanta. Biggest downside canít server beer until 12:30pm due to old school blue laws still in the city/state. The worst part is they advertise they are open, which they are, to serve food for the first 1.5 hours and not beer. I donít know about you but we were quite pissed showing up at these locations not able to drink beer. That aside, its in a more eclectic location in Atlanta. Typical "local" bar feel with about 30+ taps and extensive bottle list. The selection though good had no locals which seemed to be quite typical for the beer bars in the Atlanta area. Our bartender was very knowledgeable about what they had and beer in general helping make some recommendations off the beer list. That being said, the same complaint I have of all these beer places is a "paper" based beer list that goes out a date the day after its made. They had food that several locals were eating but we didnít partake in since we had eaten 20 minutes earlier. Prices were reasonable and overall one of the best places in Atlanta to drink craft beer. If in Atlanta, one of the few places for the beer nerd to enjoy good craft.

Nice little bar in an artsy neighborhood, small and cramped but I went during the middle of the day, so not too packed. Super friendly and adequately knowledgeable staff. Great tap list, made improvements from what people have been saying on here, and amazing bottle list. Food was great, one of the best veggie burgers Iíve ever had and everything else looked awesome. Prices were on par with what you expect in Atlanta. Definitely a good stop when youíre in town.

A quirky bar that is both uncomfortable and quaint. Service is awesome with lots of knowledge and friendly service. Selection is large but not much local. The bottle and vintage list is good and well priced. Didnít eat but the menu looked good. Overall worth the hype.

Iíll make the same comment I did about Wrecking Bar, donít open at 11am if you canít serve beer until 12:30, just insane. Long, narrow establishment tight squeeze to get past the bar into the dining room. Bar stools just sucked, all were different, a lot were broken and seemed from the 70ís, not a great start. Further back I enjoyed it more, really reminded me of a Belgian bar with the beers stacked against the back wall and the awesome cellar. The cellar would be an awesome place to hose a party, which they do. Service was great, super nice, extremely knowledgeable, knew something about each beer. 47 drafts, but a total mirage. Only 2 drafts were from Georgia, Illinois had 3. What? The drafts overall were commonly available stuff, super disappointing, so I went to the bottle list. Hey guys, update the bottle list. My first pick was sold out, really? I grabbed a Jai Alai while I perused the vintage list. Guess what, first vintage choice wasnít in either. UPDATE your damn list, it isnít that hard. At least Porter gets the point of the Vintage list destroying Brick Store. Verticals, rar beers, rar one offs etc. When I can choose from 3 Westbrook, multiple Evil Twin Iíve never seen, youíre doing something right. This place has charm and I life it. It would be world class if they improved the draft list and keep the bottle list up to date.

Deep bar full of benches to get lost in for a few hours. New American-focused taplist with a few staple imports. Saison DuPont on draft is always appreciated.

If you want craft beer in Atlanta, you MUST go to The Porter Beer Bar. Handís down one of the best craft beer bars Iíve been to. They had a great selection of drafts (around 30 or 35) and the bottle list was amazing. Then, you get to the back of the bottle list and you hit the Vintage bottle list which was another 15 or so pages. WOW! I love the look of the place, the people were very nice, the service was great, the neighborhood is charming. The only complaint was the food. The mac and cheese was fine as was the spent grain bread with butter. But I had some short ribs my dog wouldnít have been able to chew through. But forget the food...the beer was AMAZING!

Stopped in for dinner and drinks with some friends, and was very glad I did. The atmksphere was good, as was the food and service, and the beer selection was excellent, drafts, bottles, and vintage bottles. Value was good too. Another must stop in the ATL.

This place is great. Excellent selection of beer. Servers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Food is good, but not amazing. Make sure you try the truffle fries, though.
