On a couple of visits over a few days I stopped by for lunch and I really liked the vibe of the place. It was generally quiet when I was there which didnít do much for the ambiance but I didnít mind, the PR has that chilled laid back feel. The beers were solid, some of the best I had in Singapore, especially the IPA. As for the food, I enjoyed the dishes I had ordered and matched well to the beers. And the staff were hard to flaw, very switched on and professional but at the same time blended in well with the relaxed, chilled vibe. My favourite place to drink beer in Singapore along side Archipelago. ***UPDATE July 2012. Another Singapore beer establishment thatís gone downhill over the years. Beers were overly sweet and cloying and again we couldnít finish our glasses. Horrible environment to drink beer in tacky area known as Clark Quay.
In the hideously artificial Riverside, but not on the water and not as beery as Brewerkz. Afternoons are dead, which feels even worse given how large the place is. They seem to be set up for live music, they have a small stage. They have a few guest brews on tap from Archipelago and mixed those up with the house beers in our sampler set, which was very noticeable because most of the house brews were flawed when we were there. I think the problem is with the tap lines--several had the same overt pedio flaw and the guest taps were also flawed as we could easily compare those with the same beer had on tap elsewhere! Would not even consider ordering food here--the prices gave me a heart attack. Would visit again for second chance, but for the most part was disappointed.
This is my new favorite place in Singapore!
It opened in December 2006, they have a brewmaster graduated in Edinburgh and who made experience in the US (if I remember). At the time of my visit in Oct 2007 they had the regular 5 beers on draught and one seasonal. The beers are very good, best in town. I was there 2 times on weekends nights, there was a nice crowd and joyful feeling.
A raucous nightclub that brews its own beers. Pumping live pop music and a hopping dance floor. I only had one beer to end the night but I was very impressed with their golden ale. Not what I expected when paired with that atmosphere. Not my scene but the beer is tasty.
Right in the heart of Clarke Quay where things get a little crazy late at night. I have to say that Iíve walked past this place so many times without coming in as I didnít expect much. However a ticker has got to tick and so I came over one Saturday night at the 5pm opening time. Itís more of a night club when things get going but sitting outside during the early part of the evening is quite pleasant. I really didnít expect any quality beer here but I was pleasantly surprised. For a brewpub their beers were actually rather good and price wise I canít believe how cheap they were compared to other local bars. Iíve avoided this place for years but not anymore.
Hehehehe, Pump Room. First time I went there it was in the afternoon, the place was dead and it was a bit awkward. Next visit was in the evening, during happy hour (very important to know this stuff in Singapore) when it was relatively busy and we sat outside and had a jolly good time. Of course itís fairly sanitised in the touristy Singapore centre vein but quite enjoyable. Good, fun service and they try and pump you full of beer very quickly - I approve. Beers are quite good, but the lager suits the climate much better than stuff like the IPA.
Stopped in for a quick flight before my flight. Very unusual atmosphere. Beers were super expensive, but not compared to other alcohol in Singapore. At first they wouldnít let me sample the beers but then once I explained that it was to rate them for the internet they gave me a flight for free. The staff was busy with real customers and didnít care about the beer. Most people were drinking cocktails. Most of the beers were just meh, but they did have one cherry beer that was decent. Didnít try the food. Nothing special about this place though. Still, at least they were trying... but it definitely ainít a íbrewpubí
Great location riverside at Clarke Quay. Outdoor seating within earshot of live music, indoor stage also. Very clean and flavorful beers of wide-ranging styles. Great pasta along with pub style entrees: burgers, fish & chips and Australian amenities. Happy hour 12-6. Comfortable setting.
Iíd like to tell everyone about the beer, food and whatnot from The Pump Room, but I canít. Our party of four were seated quickly, then completely ignored by the staff. After over 15 minutes of attempting to flag down SOMEONE to take a drink order, we gave up and left. It is worth noting that it was not very busy, as were were one of maybe four tables with patrons. On the way out the door, one girl saw us leaving and, rather than try to get us to stay and maybe take an order, threw us attitude instead. No, thank you, Iíll take my money elsewhere.

Went there a Saturday evening. Had to pay 20 SGD to enter the brewpub, that also included one free drink. It was more a bar or nightclub than a brewpub. However, tasted all the beers freely.
