In the US, we think of the Rake as Englandís Kulminator or the UK version of Ebenezers. It was a huge disappointment. I was expecting atleast a nice lambic on draft, maybe some very hard to find bottles, maybe a few other rare beers on cask. They had none...they had sweet fruit lambic on draft....a few US beers on draft like SN Stout for $8 pint....no írareí lambic bottles, just basic stuff...only 1 of the 3 handpumps had something I hadnít seen earlier in the day ..an IPA from DarkStar(UK) and I think it was 4gbp. This place in not cheap. Maybe I got unlucky ...its worth a stop by Uttobeer and Market Porter but I was extremely underwhelmed.

Best pub in London for beer. Large bottled selection along with a constantly changing selection of beers on tap. Good for finding harder to find American microbrews.

Tiny place in the rabbitís warren that is Borough Market. Not your typical British pub, it could pass for an American beer bar. Pretty sleepy on my visit, just a few folks having a quiet beer. I can imagine sitting out in the little beer garden would be quite pleasant. Itís an incredible nitpick given the crazy range of beer they have but for someone from outside the UK I was in town to drink British cask beers, and they donít have a huge range. Two interesting casks, sure, but I didnít really feel like a 9% Brewdog in the early afternoon. Nice place, though. Theyíre certainly offering something unique.

Nice little cosy bar with a nice outside area. Service was very good and the bar personel is pro. Nice variety of beers from British cask ales to American crafts and Belgium Lambics. Prices was fair. I will go here again for sure.

Visited for the first time today, great to go and try some beers here then buy them at Uttobeer. They had a great selection and the barman was really helpful. Really cool atmosphere, visited on a thursday, nice and quiet.

A fun place to hang out and enjoy quality beers. I visited mid week over a few days so it wasnít crazily busy and congested which I preferred. Enjoyed meeting up with a few of the local crew, and had some very nice beers courtesy of Tom. I could see myself spending a lot of time here. Beer haven in London.

Good atmosphere, with the market, patio and all. Friendly bartenders who were glad to help you choose. I was a bit disappointed with the selection, but thatís England I suppose. Had a ham sandwich, wasnít my thing though, with the mustard and all. Well worth a visit.

A few cask ales in very good condition. Big selection of bottled beers. Also a lot of beers from outside the UK. Much more than just your usual english pub. Seems to be a very popular place among the London beer geeks, and I can understand why. Small and very crowded in the evenings. Tom is a very nice guy.

Fantastic place, huge choice. Expect to find rare brews on tap and a fridge stuffed to the rafters with quality beer. Even though it can get very busy on market days thereís always somewhere to loiter where one can soak up the ambience and ponder lifeís mysteries. Even better on non-market days when the ambient atmos. and the quiet collide to form a collage of pensive thought and tasty ale. Marvelous!
