Small place basically in the center of this university town. Looks like the whole town center is being renovated, or at least all the roads are being repaved. Access was easy enough, and street parking abundant. Food was tasty enough although a bit greasy. Good prices. Small selection of interesting beers from near and far. Itíll do.

Visited October 2011.

Stopped in on the way from San Antonio to Austin to try some of the Dark Side Fermentation beers. I had emailed the brewer ahead of time to ask if he could sell me some of the quad that he only does occasionally and he said he didnít have any for sale but heíd get me one from his personal stash. Unfortunately traffic sucked and he had left already but the bottle was there as promised. Other than that there were some bottles of a tripel with some herbs in it available for sale. There was a single Dark Side beer on tap, which was kind of disappointing. Maybe he canít make enough beer, I donít know. Didnít try the food. Prices on the bottles were a bit high but the tap was reasonable. The glasses were cool but not for sale unfortunately.

Apparently the Darkside brewmaster is gone...Bummer. They had two house beers on tap and no bottles to sell, even though the menu and website still advertise the Darkside stuff. Oh well, the Santa Fe Stout wasnít bad, and the appetizers werenít either.

pretty snug little place .. 1 house beer on tap ... small but tasty breakfast menu (stopped on the way to a Freetail bottle release) .. polite friendly staff .. just a small cozy restaurant that happens to have a beer or two (usually have a bottle or two for sale also) .. . BUT with the brewmaster just leaving, who knows whats gonna happen with the future of brewing here..

This place has been around for a while, but I just went back recently and saw they had started to brew, awesome! Food has always been very good and it still is, did not get a chance to try the brew however. Anyway, if youíre in San Marcos, this is a great place to try.

Quaint little was great and the beer was really good...sadly, they only had one of their beers on when we were there, but everyone was friendly and the service was great...Iíll be back.

Had a nice Saturday lunch here recently. Very good sandwiches and salads, reasonably priced. Beer selection was good, but not expansive. I had the Darkside Belgian, very good brew. Service was friendly and efficient. Neat old building itís in, cool artwork and decor. I plan to return again.

Nice little semi-underground spot thatís currently brewing small-batch Texas Belgian-style beers. Met the owner/manager (Kyle) and he was extremely friendly. Took good care of us. The food was also decent, and service from our server was acceptable. Nice Shepardís Pie. There is beer to go in 750ml bottles from their brewed on premise beers or you can drink them at the restaurant as well.

Small cafe and gallery in downtown San Marcos that began brewing a couple months ago. Friendly and very helpful staff. They are currently brewing small 15 gallon batches and have a limited number of beers currently, but plan to triple production soon. Beers are available in 750ml format to drink at the cafe or to take to go.
