I have visited this place 3 times so far. Every time it was better than before. Very good selection of beers both on taps and bottles. I had food only once but it was very good. Great atmosphere and and very helpful and friendly staff.

A quality pub. Ambiance is good but it can get a bit crowded and loud. Service is great with friendly staff that can make sound beer-recommendations. You can usually find a big array of beers at fair prices. I was also pleasantly surprised with the food. Their vegetarian selection is quite good!

My second home!

The best beer place in Gothenburg!!! The owners works closely with swedish micro-breweries. There is no other place in gothenburg that has more darkbeers on tap, sometimes more than 50%. The service is excellent and personal, they make you feel at home.....

Great intimate beer bar on Gothenburg’s second long street (Andra Långatan). It seems that the particular area where this bar is located is being (slowly) taken over by beer-centric bars which is great. Five or six years ago it was quite different. Anywho, second time at The Rover. Good selection of beers from Ocean Brewery, Närke and of course brews from Mikkeller, De Molen and some larger players in the European craft scene. Bar service was solid, bartender (tack så mycket Jonas!) could immediately tell I was interested in beer and let me sample Nøgne Batch 100 while I drank full pours of Oppigards Amarillo and a Närkne beer which was superb (and unfortunately the name of which I forget). Will definitely be back during this trip. On a note unrelated to beer: The Ass on Fire Burger was awesome, the best burger I have ever had in Sweden. It’s not all that spicy but its quite delicious and should be enjoyed with a pale ale or IPA.

Great place--good selection and staff that is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly/good to talk with. A must visit if in Gothenburg.

My favorite beer bar in Sweden! Friendly, low-key place that feels like a bar rather than a restaurant. Expect to spend the evening chatting with the locals. Selection when I visited was heavily slanted towards hoppy beers, in keeping with the times in which we live. Good selection of Swedish beers plus a few oddballs from Denmark, US and UK. Not too crowded even on Saturday night. Burger was good.

I’ve been going since end of 2005, update my place rating every now and then. 20 taps where 10 of them change fairly often. Usually some Swedish micro beer on tap. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Prices are fair. Food is good at OK prices. The place I often go to for a beer. Lots of whisky as well. Can get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, but the place is great always. Too bad they don’t serve "Raggmunk" any longer, but their burgers are among the best in town anyhow!

Good selection of Swedish micros on tap and US micros on bottle. They have about 20 taps, 5 or 6 of them are gust taps. Very nice staff. If you only have time to visit one pub in Gothenburg you definatly should go to The Rover.

A very nice Beer Bar in Göteborg. Not as many on tap as the "sister" Ölrepubliken but a very nice selection of Bottles. Best Hamburgers in town. The staf is fanatstic with Huge knowledge.
