80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 Savvy1982 (70) Lethbridge, Alberta | September 15, 2012 Kept meaning to stop in here, and I finally did on my last trip through Great Falls. The attraction here is that this place has 24 taps, 21 of which are exclusively from Montana craft breweries. I was especially impessed to see some of the more obscure ones like Carters here, and there was only one Big Sky tap. Really eclectic and well-managed selection, and they do growler fills on all 21 taps as well. The decor is classic mid-1980s dive bar, but iI never felt threatened or out of place, and the service was prompt and friendly. They don’t have a kitchen, but there is a pizza place next door that you can order from and have it delivered to your table, or right to your stool if you’re sitting at the bar. One thing of note is that it is bloody DARK in this place. Like Aces & Ales in Vegas dark. Kinda cave-like, but worth it for the quality and selection of taps here. One quirk that you should be aware of is that they serve everything in big bloody steins here, so the glassware choices are limited to say the least, but it’s great value. |
