Oh Gawd, as the first rater for this scion of beer and whiskey and oysters and pub fare, I’m tempted to just give it a 100 score and the word GO! as a comment. Visit the place and you’ll never forget it. It somehow feels like a small pub, even though it truly takes up the WHOLE BLOCK in the world famous area its named for, Temple Bar. Since 1840, this bastion has been drawing pints and slinging whiskey’s like there’s no tomorrow. It is arranged in a slew of smallish "ante-room" style with no less than a dozen rooms with their own style and character, and a great center beer garden with an open air place to smoke (a growing rarity even in Europe) and retractable roof. Heaters are there in the winter. The beer selection is above average and whiskey selection the best you’ll find. Because of the crowd, it may take a bit to get a pour but the staff does their best. The oysters are really great too!

Lots of food, beer, music and nice people

Dispite the crowd, it was a nice place to grab a beer and listen to some local musicians. It’s not really a place to hang out all night at though.

This is probably the best place to have a beer in the Temple Bar district in Dublin. It is crowded as you’d expect for the area but the place is huge and you’re sure to find someplace to sit. I ditto everything GlobalVillager said in his comments below. If you’re in Temple Bar, you simply must go to THE Temple Bar.

Guinness, guinness, and more guinness...great sandwiches. they serve a cheap dram of green dot irish whiskey too.

(Visited 11/2012): The Temple Bar is located in the touristy Temple Bar area on Temple Bar. Temple Bar!

Inside is a cozy front bar. Dark wood and red color motif, with lots of framed art and photos on the walls.

The beer selection is pretty average. Guinness, Smithwick’s, Carrig and other Irish beers along those lines primarily.

Service at the bar is pretty good considering the constant crowds.

We did not have any food on our visit.

All in all this place isn’t really worth visiting just for the beer, but between the atmosphere and regular live music they put on it may be worth checking out for Dublin visitors.

A great atmosphere in this joint. Not the best selection of beer, but when it comes to whisky its pure awesomeness.

This is a place to go out at night. Not to taste beers, but to have fun and enjoy yourself. Great atmosphere with a live band playing Molly Malone :p

Tipico pub in stile irish. In piena temple bar, facile da trovare sempre pieno di gente. Musica tipica di sera, un must per il turista.

Well an icon bar in the city a must stop but there are much better that is for sure. Old dirty and a dive but that is not really bad. a tourist trap but well you are in Dublin.
