Stopped by over the weekend with bulletrain76, service was great, selection was fantastic. Hard to believe it is downtown Oakland! seems more like a Berkley or North Oakland type of place. Great glassware, coasters, etc...
If in Bay Area, it is a must go to kinda place.

Great place. They have a special sour tap list when we went, and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was very good.

cool place with two bars and a huge and quality beer selection. better prices than the overpriced and overhyped monks kettle in SF.

I was once a big fan but am sad to see what itís turned into. It was arguably the cutting edge of Belgian beer when it first opened with a Euro ambiance that encouraged good friends and conversation. Now itís just a plain old West Coast brew pub with loud alternative music and an endless supply of hoppy beers. If thatís what youíre looking for then go, but there are probably 25 places just like it closer to where you live. Kind of sad.

Great bar with 2 seating areas / bars and a nice patio area. Excellent draft selection, along with knowledgable bartenders. Looks inconspicuous from the outside but once you get inside, it reminds me of a dutch pub (long and narrow, lots of wood). Selection is strongly in favor of Belgian-style beer. Slightly pricy but you get what you pay for.

My friend from East Bay took me here promising a great beer place. I had reservations because of the name--Iím just not a big Belgian fan. Come to find out they had a selection with style variety. Small venue, but the decor is cool and unique. Some sidewalk seating. Good service. This place helps spruce up Oakland. Cheers to them!

This is rated highly for a reason. The draft list is well above average with a killer bottle list as well. Ajax and I stopped in here on a whirl wind tour of the bay area.
The bartender was very polite and knew her beer. The prices seemed a bit on the high side for Oakland butÖ hey I was on vacation so I didnít care! I also had a light snack (pulled pork on Texas toast) which was very tasty. Had a chat with a very friendly local as well. If you want a high end draft list in Oakland, Iím guessing this is the best place you will find.

Visited during SFO beer week. The atmosphere was bad but not what I expected overall for this place. Service was good during our visit when it was quite busy. They had about 20+ taps that were all pretty good along with a decent bottle selection that had strong mixture of Belgians and US based beers. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that prices could be a little high for some of these beers and not worth it every case. Overall in a decent location on your way to Beer Revolution in the Oakland area. If you are in SFO do you need to go out of your way to visit with all the great beer and cocktail bars, probably not but a must visit in you find yourself in the Oakland area.

Easy to reach, a 5 minute walk away from the nearest BART station. A small and dark bar focused on Belgian styled beers. Pretty nice tap selection, didnít have time to check out their bottle list. Food was okay, but a bit pricey place overall. Still definitely worth the visit if you are in SF area.

Probably the best beer bar in Oakland. Awesome selection of rare and hard to find beers. And if you canít find what you want on tap, they probably have it in a bottle. I love that they always have at least one sour on tap, if not more. The staff if super friendly and helpful. Oh, and thereís a patio in the back. Need I say more?

Went here on a Friday nigth. Front bar was packed, back bar was very open and roomy. I sat by the open window overlooking the street and watching traffic & people which was quite nice. Tap list and bottle list both pretty good and with rotation, I think it would be a great local hangout. I just thought prices were very high and itís a very busy joint. Parking is pretty easy though once work hours are over.
