The food has really improved lately. Unfortunately the draft list is not as creative and exotic as it was then they first opened. The interest in the beer just doesn’t seem to be there.

The Wharf Pub and Raw Bar is now owned by the couple who own Diego’s. They have 20 taps- mostly beers from New England. They have Pretty Things, Fisherman’s, Peak,Allagash Curieux . The prices range from 4.50 to 6.00 for Allagash 8.75 10oz and Pretty Things 7.50 12oz. Over 52 bottles.
The food is now creative comfort food. The raw bar is great with some deals during the week. There is a new porch facing Diego’s.
The beer selection doesn’t match Norey’s or Malt, but it is way better than the downtown restaurants Check it out.

This place advertises itself as having the best selection of microbrews in Newport. My wife and I sat outside on the deck for lunch. The place is nice enough and there is a decent selection of mostly New England craft beer. They were out of the first beer I asked for. The food is solid American pub fare with some seafood on the menu as well. Prices are reasonable and the service was attentive and friendly.

A nice find on Bowens Wharf I did not try the food but the small bar had some TV’s, about ten taps with local Rhode Island brews occupying a couple and a hand pump. The bartender was friendly and there was a nice restaurant area and some outside seating as well. Doesn’t really offer a great view, but you can watch people walk by on the wharf from the bar. Definitely check this place out if your in Newport and want a brew along your travels.
