I’ve become a bit of regular at this place the last year, mainly because the food served here is very good and value for money (shared kitchen with the Dubliner), and the small pub itself is really nice. They’ve also got a pretty interesting selection of beers, not matching the really serious places in Oslo, but good enough for a few beers. The highlight on my own part has been Founders Porter, which is an excellent beer. They also usually have Nøgne Ø, Ægir, Haandbryggeriet as well as a few bottles. Highly recommended if you want a good meal and at least one or two good beers to choose from. The service varies from very good to pretty average, the rotation of bar tenders seems to be very frequent. Also notice that you can cross over to the Dubliner and vice versa, which means you can buy your beer here and sit somewhere else if there are no seats (often the case Thursday to Saturday).

A classic English pub! Nice place but average beer selection for a beer geek. The most interesting beers are in the fridge, not on tap. (Visited December 5th 2014)

A small and cousy place next to The Dubliner. A bit off pist from the ale trail. But still have an ok bottle selection. Just look at The Roof.... Nice patio with connenction to The Dubliner.

Some decent brew on tap, norwegian micros and some exiting bottles. However, the whisky selection is great- but no importance to the Oslo Beer scene

A small and cozy place located right next to the irish pub The Dubliner. It can get crowded on friday and saturday afternoons, but otherwise it’s pretty quiet. The selection is not as good as other places in Oslo, but it’s mostly just good beer that is available. Food was good and not too pricey.

The Whisky Bar opened up summer 2010 and I’ve visited the place infrequently over the last three years, so when I stopped by on March 18, 2013, I was surprised to find a new 7-tap beer tower at the small bar. This brings the total number of beers on tap up to 12, of which most are craft beers. I’ve always enjoyed the cozy, secluded atmosphere of The Whisky Bar, though I guess it can be a bit noisy during weekends, and now I can even sit down to enjoy a full evening of good beer. There is even a chance that a second 7-tap tower will be installed this spring, so I recommend a stop at The Whisky Bar the next time you’re in this area of Oslo.

The Whisky Bar is a cozy little pub with a descent selection of beers. The main focus at The Whisky Bar is Whisky but they do have quite a few beers bottled and a few norwegian micro breweries on tap. If you come there in the tight seasons they might even have a selection of good christmas beers on tap. Overall a very pleasant experience. I would recommend everyone to take a swing by this place.

Very nice place, nice interior. Very good whisky place. Has a decent selection of beer, and rotate what is on tap. Nice an calm place, knowledgeable staff. Great fish and chips and Irish stew.
