Very disappointing indeed, had looked at the pub opposite and didn’t fancy it, so came in here. The pub itself lacks any kind of atmosphere, the young staff member who served me looked completely disinterested, probably as bored with the place as I was. An Okell’s house with four or five of their offerings, the IPA was sampled and left after a few sups, not in great condition and I didn’t bother trying any of the others. Won’t be back.

Lovely traditional brown British pub. Almost in the city centre of Liverpool.
Not that big selection of different ale., but you can easily manage to have some decent beers.
Nice patio shared with Lady of Mann.
Absolutely well wort a visit!

A seemingly always busy Okell’s pub on the cusp of the commerical centre of Liverpool, but as it’s sandwiched between this and the business centre it’s not surprising. It shares an inner courtyard area with its sister pub, the Lady of Mann, which is only accessible through the courtyard. The pub itself is the more traditional looking of the two and it’s well kept inside with good fixtures and fittings that include wood panelling on the walls. The entrance leads to two areas, with the central bar facing into the main room on the left, with a slightly more cramped corridor type room on the right - it’s all open plan though and either area is as good as the other. There’s a large room to the rear as well and there’s no shortage of people in here on an evening. Part of this is the food which seems to be popular here, although I have never partaken. It’s cosy, period in style and not a lot of natural light gets in here during the daytime.

Being a Okell pub off course Okell beers but also beer from other micros, both on tap and as bottles. Beers served in good condition, friendly, smiling staff :-). They do food as well, but we didn´t eat, for sure worh a visit if in the area..

A comfortable and relaxed Okells pub in the business district. Thomas Rigby’s has eight hand pumps offering a good selection of Okells and other beers. The main front room (there is a separate room to the side as well) has a long bar and feels like a homely beer hall. At the back there’s another room which is more like a small country house dining room with wood panelling, a beamed ceiling, leaded glass windows, scrubbed wooden tables and a few pictures showing naval scenes. The Lady of Mann, across the courtyard at the back, is another Okells pub but with a much less enticing beer selection.

Nowadays operated by Okells brewery of the Isle of Man, although there are four or five guest beers in addition to those from the Okells stable. A rather grand frontage, a mix of Georgian and mock-Tudor, gives way to a more Victorian feeling multi-roomed, wood-panelled interior. There’s an enclosed courtyard at the rear, on the other side of which is the Lady Of Mann, a separate establishment also operated by Okells, although the beers on offer may differ.

Characterful pub in an old fashion style with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Gives a clean and tidy impression. Large half circle bar displaying Belgian beers on tap and bottles and eight cask ales. An outlet for ales from Isle of Man, the Okells brewery, supplemented by a few guest ales. Has got a good reputation for its food and beers (visited, 04.05.2009).
