The aroma of barley tea hits you as soon as you enter the parking lot. Inside a plethora of amazing brews greets you, plus a decent menu of tasty accompaniments. The smoked octopus was amazing. The beers, of course, were delicious, and the variety was astounding. This is a required stop on any beer pilgramige.

8-10 house taps
Middle of nowhere IN, small parking lot, canít believe that they have Dark Lord Day in that parking lot. The loud metal playing was entertaining but I could see it being a turn off for some people. Not me though.
Good food, nice staff but inattentive, surprisingly good beer on tap compared to that mess that is Dark Lord (last couple years anyway). Would definitely go back.
Visited again 10/12/2010
This time there were more like 15-20 house taps. The service was much more attentive and more knowledgeable/accurate than the descriptions on the beer menu. Ended up ordering and splitting half a dozen half pints because they donít offer samples. Oh well. They also had a funny/crappy sci-fi movie being projected on the wall.
I really enjoyed some of the non bottled offerings but was bummed that I still havenít been able to try Arctic Panzerwolf. Oh well, some day. Food was good again.

Ahh hell yeah. Donít need to even say anything... makes me wish I lived in Munster... or rather that Three Floyds lived near me, I would visit every day. The new pub feels a little like a garage... so... thatís not so good. But the beer selection is great. Didnít eat any food, because quite frankly I usually donít like the versions of "quality food" (faux-gourmet) that brewpubs try to make.

We made it just maybe an hour before last call, so a bit of a rushed trip. I guess Iíd have to say my first impression is that itís much smaller than I imagined.
We sat at a high top table near the bar and each ordered a couple rounds. They will only serve you one beer per person and only full pours other than a predetermined flight (lame). At least the pricing on the pours is reasonable. Iíd take a $5 imperial pint of Zombie Dust anyday.
Some of the beers were quite good. I was pleasantly impressed by Snow Weasel, and of course Zombie Dust. Some others not as great (Man-o-Awe). They also have some guest beers on, which is nice, I suppose.
Service was alright, I didnít really interact much with the bartender, but he seemed like a decent guy.
I didnít really get the full, authentic Three Floyds experience, I suppose. But it was a fun little place and they have good beers. And, I got to try White Castle for the first time at the gas station next door.

(Visited 08/2014): Finally made it to Three Floyds on the way to Great Taste of the Midwest. The brewpub is located in an industrial area of Munster on Indiana Parkway off Calumet Ave. Parking is available in front of the building.
Upon entering, there is a small counter room and counter on the left for bottle sales. The brewpub features a curved bar in the center of the space with wooden chairs and offers a view of the tap handles. There is a chalk board on the right side of the bar listing the beers. The walls are various bright colors, and there are a couple TVs, one of which was playing a schlocky 80s movie.
There are 20 beers on tap, with many brewpub-only offerings along with several year-round brews. On my visit the selections included Speed Ball, Secret Sub Lair, Big Tiddy Assassin, Space Station Middle Finger, War Mullet, Deesko, Backmasking and many more. Guest taps as well from breweries like Dogfish Head and Dark Horse. Bottles to go included Cimmerian Sabertooth Tiger, Moloko and Dreadnaught. All of the beers were good.
Service at the bar on a surprisingly not crazy busy Thursday night was good. The bartender was friendly, provided samples and was attentive throughout the visit.
I did not have any food on this visit.
All in all I am glad to have checked this place off my beer bucket list and it lived up to expectations. I would definitely visit again.

May 2005: Three Floyds makes some of the countries best beers. At this time, they only had a little tasting bar inside the warehouse brewery but a little brewpub was being added. They had a nice choice of their beers available, but I was put back by the inhospitable staff here.

Be patient, really busy little bar with the hardest working and good bartendenders I have seen in a while. Fun memorabilia and Star Wars stuff everywhere. Large selection including lots of guests. I didnít eat, but it looked decent. Beer is great, but sample tray is set to mainstays. Prices are decent, a must stop.

First time here. Crowded, not overwhelming. Great tap list. 16 house beers, three guest taps. One offs and specialties. No tasters of their special beers is quite annoying. Lots of wasted beer. Barbecue was excellent. Pulled pork sandwich out of control. Boss fries. Brisket quite good. Service slow, not interested. Never cleared off our table after an hour of having finished our meal. Heavy metal music blasting is love it or hate it. Fun, quirky place. Strange that this has such an insane cult following given the beer quality is good but not close to tired Hands, pizza boy, or hill farmstead. One last detail, the Mikkeller guest tap just said Wild Ale even though no such beer exists.

Why is this place connected to a food distribution center? Why is it surrounded by a hospital, a hospice, and a business park? It doesnít really feel like a bar. Itís very plain inside and even from the outside itís difficult to really conclude this is a pub without knowing who Three Floyds is. There are at least two nicely located televisions displaying sports and the bartender was medium-paced and friendly enough. Not really that great of a place. That being said, the beer is so awesome that it doesnít matter what the hell else is going on around it. Excellent array of styles available and bottles, growlers, and T-shirts are available for sale at a fair price.

In short... loved this place. Ambience is industrial park outside and cool pub scene inside. Couches, tables, bar. Decor is eclectic artwork, brewery paraphanalia from themselves and others and some cool vintage toys. Gotta love the chalk board in the mens room... sure kept the graffiti off the walls. I had Calumet Queen kolsch which was good and Zombie Dust which was awesome, and Iím not just saying that because it was a similar recipe to a recent batch of my homebrew with the exception that they actually know what theyíre doing. Kinda upscale food menu, which seems odd for the decor, but it is what it is and my bacon mac and cheese was damn tasty. Prices for food is appropriate but beer is pretty cheap... usually about 5 bucks for an imperial pint, and snifters for the high gravity stuff. Their beer is on the expensive side bottled but here it was a fair bit cheaper than retail stores. The two guys working the bar were exceptionally friendly. Parking is a bit tight and looking at the surroundings I canít imagine how they cram Dark Lord Day in here. If I lived anywhere near here Iíd be here all the time.
