68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 frankenkitty (94) Oak Lawn, Illinois | July 24, 2005| Updated September 24, 2006 Original Rating, July 24, 2005 Not sure why the "selection" ratings are so high... only 5 beers on tap and nothing but 3F, but they were all damn good. Got a cool little tour from Mick (not Nick) Floyd. Fun and strange to sit and drink in a warehouse in the afternoon. Will re-rate after the brewpub opens this fall... maybe winter... next spring?... (3/7/6/NA/14)
Re-Rate, July 25, 2006 Have been to the Brewpub a few times now. The ambience is if a Toys R Us barfed all over an IKEA. Strange acoustics amplify the collective squeak of wobbly barstools. I’ve been enjoying the grub and the beer selection has increased exponentially from the warehouse days... but both are sadly overpriced (check any random RB forum thread to verify). I’ve heard service nowadays can be a little dodgy, but our latest server (J. Leno) was quick and sociable. Worth noting is if there’s something you’ve been wanting to sample, order it first. On each occasion I’ve been, they’ve run dry of either a seasonal or a guest tap. (Or maybe it’s just my dumb luck.) I’ll still keep going back, but it’s not the mecca it once was. | 52 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 erway (41) Albuquerque, New Mexico | July 8, 2005 Ok but nothing hard to find there when I went. Bartender was fairly anti-social. Beer was overpriced compared with other quality brewers. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 dm9831 (34) Monee, Illinois | July 4, 2005| Updated September 7, 2008 the brew pub wasn’t finished the first few times i came here, but i love sitting in a warehouse on folding chairs drinking some of their great brews.
the brew pub itself is worth the visit, but i still like the warehouse atmosphere better. but don’t let that stop you from coming to this great place. | 58 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 Braudog (655) Hampton, Virginia | July 3, 2005| Updated September 7, 2008 May 2005: Three Floyds makes some of the countries best beers. At this time, they only had a little tasting bar inside the warehouse brewery but a little brewpub was being added. They had a nice choice of their beers available, but I was put back by the inhospitable staff here. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 atpayne (28) Zionsville, Indiana | June 18, 2005| Updated September 7, 2008 No brewpub yet, but my pilgramage to get Dark Lord made it quite a nice visit. It’s really a wharehouse with a brewer inside but the beer that they make is soooooo good. Seeing 50+ people in their parking lot on a Friday afternoon waiting for their chance at $150 cases of Dark Lord really shows how good people feel their beer is. The quality of the beer makes up for the fact that it is a wharehouse in an industrial park. | 68 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 hezron (26) Viroqua, Wisconsin | June 13, 2005| Updated September 7, 2008 Great parking lot for a tasting. Hung out here at the Dark Lord release. Very casual and fun. Bring your own glass and cash. | 96 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 StewardofGondor (122) Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin | June 9, 2005| Updated January 5, 2006 Rating update to reflect the new brewpub at the brewery. Casual, welcoming environment with the definitive focus on the beer, as it should be. Good prices for both beer and food, and well-alligned glassware for each beer. Great pork something sandwich. Somewhat of a regular pilgrimage for me and my son. We’ll continue to visit here several times a year. | 40 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 7/20 Zeswaft (111) Seattle, Washington | May 24, 2005| Updated January 5, 2006 In the middle of nowhere, about half a mile east of the Illinois/Indiana border. If they didn’t have some of the best beer in the world I would dispise these guys. The brewery is like a giant warehouse. The "tour" consists of no brewery tour but just paying like $5 for 3, 8 ounce beers. The beers with high alcohol count as 2 beers. If you ask someone for a real tour some random person who may or may not work there and may or may not be drunk will half-ass a tour. They never answer the phone. There is like a small table at the door where some regulars sit and drink a pint. These guys need to hire someone who actually knows how to manage a business. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 NVBeer232 (21) Reno, Nevada | May 2, 2005| Updated January 5, 2006 Located in a commercial park, this place is really a warehouse space with brewing equipment in it. The pub was under construction when I was there for the release of 2005 Dark Lord. Not exactly oozing atmosphere, but I’m not really the kind to knock points off the product for bad presentation. A small office/ booth off in the corner houses a few handles and some bottles for sale. Very kind staff. Killer beer. Will be better when the pub opens. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 1FastSTi (103) Glendale, Wisconsin | May 1, 2005| Updated December 17, 2005 Mostly just a warehouse that smells like brewing is going on. Not really much other than that. They’re getting a brewpub, but we’ll see how that goes. Build something like Tyranea’s got in Lake Mills, WI! The Dark Lord release party was nice. We were sampling many fine brews. GREAT beer, just needs to be less warehousey.
