Either call and get directions or read the direction on one of the 3F six packs, otherwise you could get lost. An industrial building from the outside, and a quirky but homey brewpub on the inside. I was surprised by how small it was. Service was friendly but slow, but the servers seemed to be up to speed on the beers they were serving (even the guest taps). Food was disappointing. Either the kitchen staff isnít properly trained, or theyíre lazy. Or both. Either way, no good. Beer made up for all the faults in food and service. I liked everything I had, as did my wife. We wished we could have spent more time there drinking some great brews, but we had to move on. Iíll be back the next time I pass through.

Iíve never been disappointed with 3Fís beer. the Gumballhead is outstanding! Too bad it isnít available in 12 oz. bottles, the Twenty oz. bottles are a bit too big to keep cold while drinking it. The food is great and service good unless really busy. Itís hard to beat 3Fís.

Of course itís located in an industrial park! It was a brewery before it was also a brewpub. That being said, the interior is small and homey - real comfortable. The tap list is of course excellent with about a dozen guest taps. We ordered three sandwiches and all three were great. The Dreadnaught was of course fantastic as well. A must stop on any NW Indiana/Chicago beer tour.

One of the American Meccas for beer drinkers. As others have said - itís in the middle of an industrial park so not much scenery. Had a pizza which was spectacular with lots of roasted garlic. Oh yeah, they have a decent beer selection too. Great recycled tableware - my DEESKO was served in a Falstaff pedestal and also had plates obviously bought from a defunct Chinese restaurant. If youíre within 100 miles, itís a place you have to go to or plan a long layover in Chicago - a must visit.

Visited in August, 2006. One of the new brewers (Matty) conducted the brew tour and was a real cool guy (too bad the tour was ruined by some old guy who interrupted Matty 500 times to complete his sentences - everyone on the tour wanted to murder this customer from hell). The selection was a good mix of standards and some summery-leaning offerings (kolsch, wheat etc. too bad Dreadnaught and Dark Lord werenít on tap). The service was prompt and solid. My burger/fries were awesome, my wife liked her chicken sandwhich. The atmosphere is funky purple/yellow walls with big oval cutouts of their beer labels on the walls - punk rock music playing - awesome. Matty was also helpful offering places for my wife and I to check out while in Chicago. The waitress gave me directions to a liquor store where I can pick up bottles the brewery had sold out of. Just an awesome experience - I hated to leave!

Why is this place connected to a food distribution center? Why is it surrounded by a hospital, a hospice, and a business park? It doesnít really feel like a bar. Itís very plain inside and even from the outside itís difficult to really conclude this is a pub without knowing who Three Floyds is. There are at least two nicely located televisions displaying sports and the bartender was medium-paced and friendly enough. Not really that great of a place. That being said, the beer is so awesome that it doesnít matter what the hell else is going on around it. Excellent array of styles available and bottles, growlers, and T-shirts are available for sale at a fair price.

Luckily thereís a map to this place on most every six pack and bomber, else youíd never find it. I lived around there for a long time before I even knew it was there. Even when you get there the only thing confirming its the legendary 3F is a neon Alpha King sign in the window. Inside it looks too new, shiny bar, new paint, shiny awards, and advertisments for their beer. It lacks the character that years of drinking gives a place. But maybe thatís all the more reason to drink there and give it some character. But that all aside, its about the beer. They usually have a good selection of their beers on tap and a few that you canít get at the store (and you can often take even those out in a growler as long as its not sunday). A few of their guest beers are often impressive as well as they had Stone RIS and Ruination on tap last time I was there. The food is pretty good, though a little greasy, mostly your typical sandwiches and fries but also a few nicer entrees as well. Go there for the beer, you know thatís why you came.

Stopped here on the way back to Philly from Milwaukee. Tucked away in an industrial park - thought I was in the wrong spot (kind of reminded me of the off the beaten path liked Victory). Has that hole in the wall feeling inside. Out of a couple of beers listed on the web site & on the beer board (and that was written in chalk - just erase it!). That being said, you must go here if you like 3F beers! Food was good and I found the service to be great (of course I was there at 8pm on a Sunday).

been here several times now. i donít think iíll return for a long time. obviously the location is awful. itís a bit too dark; the couches may seem weird, but i like them. service is ok. it was too long in between beers the most recent visit. the time before i did ask for a new beer since i hated the dolemite and the waitress complied. so that was really cool. iíve liked the food every time iíve gone there. thereís always a new beer or three iíve never had, so big up there as well. good guest tap list. but ultimately iím tired of driving 75 minutes one-way for this.

Horrible location. Nice landscaping at entrance leading to an inside which looks like a frat house garage where the boys spent half a day trying to fix it up but just stopped, all that was missing was the Rubbermaid trashcan with a keg in it. Battleship gray wall, little Japanese monster movie posters, low ( Asian like but cheap) couches and coffee tables, purple and yellow bathroom walls. Very spartan. Great tap selection, 3-F and guest taps. Food was so-so. Good menu selection of varied sandwiches and pricy pizzas. Fries still had peel but used the Bennigans ratio of 1/2 salt and 1/4 each pepper and garlic, but they used too much Kosher salt ( dont need as much) but it is a brewpub so I get it. Turkey burgers tasted good but my brother pulled out 5 large pieces of gristle from his. Bartender came out to seat us right away but the server seemed out of it or just smoking too much weed. I understand the dream concept of this place but the reality of running it and the location do not seem to fit. Update: From the menu: the Porker. WTF? $2.50 for a doughnut hole size app.? At least fill in the rest of the plate with something...anything. I laughed at the waitress when she brought this out and she seemed embarrassed to bring it out
