Proper pub just off the dockside area and away from the new developments. The beers are mostly Arbor, obviously, but guests as well in both cask & keg. There is a comfortable, if slightly cramped, pub feel to it, not much room outside by the looks. The opening hours proved difficult for us unfortunately, we had to make a bit of a special effort, but it was worth it.

The Three Tuns is one of Bristolís top beer destinations. The pub itself has a traditional sort of feel, with quite a laid-back atmosphere (certainly or our visit). They offer a very nice selection of craft beer on cask & keg. Obviously Arbor dominates, but there was also BBF, Alechemy and Blackjack on our visit. Stronger beers are offered in thirds if you wish - perfect for the power-rater! They have small, but interesting bottle selection and we opted for some Wiper & True. We could have easily spent a lot more time here. A great place all-round.

Taken over by Arbor Ales in 2010 after years of alternating between being shut or a total dive, the Three Tuns has gone on to win Bristol & district CAMRA pub of the year in 2012. The selection of beers has been excellent to date, with cask ales comprising three Arbor and four guests from the likes of Dark Star, Marble, Moor, Bristol Beer Factory, Raw and Art Brew. Installed 4 keg taps in September 2012, which serve Arbor, Kernel, Moor and Harbour beers. Also sells a wide range of Arbor beers in the bottle, which can be bought to take away at £2.70 each or £7 for three. Beer quality has been excellent and service is efficient. Food is contracted out to the excellent Meat & bread who produce US inspired beef, pork and chicken sandwiches, plus a vegetarian option. With the Bag OíNails and Grain Barge nearby, this makes for an easy, high quality pub crawl.

Excellent sorta kinda brewery tap for one of the big four of Bristol and surrounds new breed of progressive brewer. A comprehensive range of Arbor and guests on draught served by friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Plenty of good bottled beers available as well. Capping it off is a carry out deal available at time of writing that is exceptionally good value. Worth a visit.
RERATE: Been in a few times since, and the staff have been pretty consistently offish and unenthusiastic, the carry out deal is soured by having no new stock, and there was a long period of re-branding that resulted in fewer new beers, less variety, and a lot of over-carbing. Still doing good work, but somehow losing the vibe.

where was this place when i lived in Brizzle?! well, obviously it was in the same place (though it wasnít in Gloucestershite then and it isnít in Gloucestershite now!), but really wasnít worth visiting. now though, itís a top notch place... well laid out, good atmosphere, and of course you canít go wrong with Arbor beers. not sure how to rate value, about par for the area, but chingy when youíre visiting from the Peopleís Republic of South Yorkshire! Iím possibly being mean on selection, the best Iíve seen in Brizzle but Iím judging by PRSY standards... needs a cat to complete the scene

We happened to visit on folk night so the musicians were taking up the big front tables and the rest of the place was pretty crowded with punters. Found a bit of wall to lean on to enjoy our Arbor ales. Nice selection of local craft beer on tap and friendly locals.

Visited here on Saturday 28th Jan 2012. Great choice of beers with two Arbor, one Bristol Beer Factory, Dark Star Espresso amongst those on offer. Friendly chatty landlord and we also stood chatting at the bar with the landlord/barman from the Bag Oí Nails which reading Downenders review (see below) must have now re-opened. Nice pub, which is close to a number of other decent pubs including Hope & Anchor, Grain Barge and I guess the Bag Oí Nails which I have to confess to not having been to. Scrubbed tables, open fire and chatty locals are my overriding impression of this pub.
