88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | August 30, 2012 Visited on 25/05/12 a Friday lunchtime and grabbed the last 2 spaces at the end of the bar. Seating areas were almost full at this point. Great selection from the 30 taps where I enjoyed beers from Alesmith, Port Brewing, Clown Shoes, Iron Fist and a Schneider beer on cask! Bartender was knowledgeable, friendly happy to give samples and our water were always topped up without asking. Mix of local workers and friday lunchtime session beer heads. Food was decent we shared some different flavoured mac’n’cheeses and some wings. A definate second visit beckons on my next trip to PA! | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 mikem409 (161) bloomfield, Michigan | August 13, 2012 Great selection and price. Loved the led screen for draft list. Waitress was not very friendly | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 watson1977 (114) The dub c, Pennsylvania | January 12, 2009 though this bar is a little open and bright for my taste, the service and food coupled with a top notch beer selecion (great cellar aged options) make this place one of my favorites. prices might be a little on the high side but its hard to complain when the selection is so good. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 michael-pollack (100) King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | January 17, 2009| Updated June 2, 2012 Nice place. Very good service. Very good selection. Good food. Average value. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 jmm635 (82) Havertown, Pennsylvania | October 20, 2008| Updated July 9, 2012 Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 4. Obviously, the place wasn’t very busy, so we got some really nice service from the waiter. He really knew his stuff and made a few suggestions from the lengthy draft and bottle list. They had dogfish head 120 on tap and I got a free glass because it was the bottom of the keg and not an entirely full glass. Food was pretty good. Nearly everything is cooked with beer! I will definitely be going back soon.
Been back many times since my first rating. Beer list is always spectacular and the food is great. Try the Boursin cheese burger! | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 orangesol (73) Pennsylvania | August 31, 2011| Updated July 9, 2012 TJ’s is awesome for sure. The bar is a decent size with the current tap lists shown on big "chalk board" TV screens. The menu is a good size with lots of different tasty treats. Most recently I have had the buffalo chicken mac n cheese and a burger and bothwere great. I also tried some of the boneless chicken wings and they were very good as well. While the food was good, the beer list was even better. All different kinds of beer from all over the world. Keep an eye out for their events, the tap lists are even better, if that is even possible. The service was very good as well. They came to check on us every time our drinks got low. Overall a quality spot for sure. I will return for more very soon. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 billk (55) Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | January 27, 2008| Updated July 9, 2012 Nothing special about the atmosphere, and the bar area is quite loaded with cigarette and cigar smoke (Sunday afternoon), but the selection is interesting and plentiful (especially considering the bottle selection) for this area. Didn’t have any food this time but plan a return for the Stout day in Feb. (afternoon to hopefully avoid the smoke).
6 ers of Orval for take out @ $24. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 agl108 (30) Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania | April 6, 2009| Updated July 9, 2012 Finally checked this place out after monitoring their draft list for months. Surprisingly empty bar area for a Saturday night. Several large plasmas, perfect for watching a game. Nice size draft list and even better bottle list. Food was slightly above average pub fare. Would definitely revisit but with Teresa’s and Capone’s closer that may be tough to do. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 delirium11 (27) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | June 7, 2010 Great place! The biggest selection of beer in suburban Philly, much cheaper than Teresa’s Next Door (much friendlier too) and great service. I’ve been here many times and will be going back. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 callmemickey (22) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | July 12, 2011 TJs is my favorite bar in the Philly area. Jeff, Kevin, and Scott keep everyone happy. The draft lift is always diverse and top notch. The food is pretty damn good for casual fair. The prices are right, they sell bottles and growlers to go, and you can take the train from center city out to the bar. All of those things add up. |
