70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 lusikka (32) Tampere, Finland | May 19, 2013 Oct 2012. Visited after RR brewpub. The place was very quiet so the staff had quite some time to talk with us about their beers and food. They have 2 cask ales all the time, couple of regular taps (Racer 5, British beers and Stella Artois at the time) and 2 taps including the latest local beers. Apparently they were the first on the server 101 North Brewing Co beers so I had their Heroine IPA. The cask ales were in good condition. They do have some bottles as well including German(!) beers such as Spaten Maximator. Reasonable prices. After RR brewpub this was a nice place to settle down. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 DavidWoodruff (22) Windsor, California | January 26, 2013 Nice Pub overall. Good is small beer selection. Food is okay for a pub - nothing special. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 swoopjones (230) Buffalo, New York | February 15, 2012 nice place, owner was very accomendating & personable. Decent draft list, prickly pear saison from New Belgium was quite good. Seems like second best option in Santa Rosa after RR | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 falschfreiheit (5) Santa Rosa, | October 30, 2010 One of my favorite local places to get a beer. Especially on Tuesday Nights when they have a cask and featured tap or two. Regular beer lineup is mostly relatively local craft brews with some interesting imports (always including a belgian) and a few boring things (Stella, Guinness). Food is typical british but all nicely seasoned and well done. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 944play (1) Santa Rosa, California | June 12, 2010 Find me here on Tuesdays for Cask Night! The everyday selection is a limited but excellent array of mostly sessionable locals and imports. Menu highlights are excellent burgers, luscious Brussels sprouts, and occasionally meat stews that synergize brilliantly with the tangy mash. Clientele are largely regulars of the undouchey persuasion. Service is headlined, of course, by publican Paul. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 iowaherkeye (29) Ocean Beach, San Diego, California | November 1, 2009 Just saw that Joe rated this, and somehow it only had one rating. Why I hadn’t is beyond me. Other than Russian River, this was the place I frequented most while in Santa Rosa. Set on the other side (west) of the 101 to RR’s east side, it’s a small pub that can maybe fit 60 people, which it does on live music nights. There’s always soccer or rugby on the flat screens. The food is decidedly British--get the pasty with the brussel sprouts--very tasty. They usually have about 12 taps of UK and local craft beer, and one beer engine. The beer engine is always room temp, so if it’s 80 in the bar, you have yourself one warm beer. Oh well. They never have RR on tap because, well, you can drive 5 minutes to get that. Prices are par for Santa Rosa. Paul is the owner, who is apparently a nephew to one of the great bars that RR now resides. Very friendly guy. Great place. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 joet (72) Santa Rosa, California | October 31, 2009 The tap selections here seem to be among the best in the county. It’s small, very friendly, clean, well lit, perfect little spot in the Railroad District. |
