Not much to say on top of what the others have said, other than the other Hasegawa (there are two in the underground area), in the vicinity does whisky, rum, bourbon etc tastings for uber cheap - just pick them off the shelf, get them poured and pay the ticket price!. JW Blue, Highland Park 30 yrs and Van Winkle 12 yr for 700 yen? Forgetaboutit!...also this Hasegawa has a wider range of beers too.

Worth popping in to Hasegawa if you are in the area. Decent selection of Japanese micros and some other interesting stuff too. It is no match for Tanakaya, but then not many places are. Prices were about normal. Good if you consider it is pretty much in the station. Daimaru was much less exciting, but still some interesting cans. Was there on a Saturday and the whole shopping centre was insanely busy so took me a while to find Hasegawa, but if you find the Daimaru beer section and then walk in the opposite direction to the station it’s on the left hand side.

I stop in one or both of these joints every time I get on the bullet train heading back to Kyoto. Pick up some Chinese food in Daimaru, and a couple beers. All the bottles at Daimaru have pull-off tabs for train travelers, and they sell plastic cups as well. Is it a place to go out of your way for? No. But everyone goes thru Tokyo station, and the selection is, well, decent. These are actually 2 different stores, as TimE notes, but hey, they are about 20m apart. Hasegawa has the better choices, with some interesting stuff for sure, though going in that tight shop with a backpack or suitcase is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle. Best if you have someone to wait outside with your stuff. A very convenient place in Tokyo to get ji-beer.

And I think that Hasegawa is on the left, not right.

This is probably the second best option in Central Tokyo for finding good beer, after Tanakaya. Essentially take Yaesu Central Exit at JR Tokyo Station in the B1 (basement 1st floor) and you will soon get to Daimaru Department store. There is a path that runs through the middle of the store and on the left side you will see the alcohol section. The beer never rotates, but you can find 20 or so Japanese craft beers, including some lesser known brands like Susukino (oddly they only sell cans of beer, no bottles). Continuing on that same path way, walk past Daimaru about 30 seconds and you will see a liquor store on your right hand side called Hasegawa Liquors. At the back of the store, they have a small beer fridge. The selection isn’t huge (maybe 40 or so), but they generally stock lots of seasonals/rare Japanese beers and the rotation is always changing. Plus there is a smattering of random import beers, some of which are also very interesting. Given the location it is very convenient for out of tourists and it provides broad enough selection between the two stores that will make most people happy.
