32 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 8/20 PGHbeer77 (20) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | March 10, 2012 Stopped by twice during advertised hours and both times the doors were locked to the six pack shop. I had to ask a waitress in the diner if the six pack shop was ever open, and she ended up unlocking it for me. As the waitress stood at the door waiting (which was awkward), I perused their selection - by my rough estimation about two hundred different bottles - and I was not impressed. The beer seemed to be randomly placed in the fridges, and only about half was priced. The other half was a mystery as to price. The selection was about 30 percent big three and standard domestics, 70 percent craft, and of the craft there wasn’t that many seasonals or anything that caught the eye. Unless I’m drunk and eating at the diner, I doubt I’ll ever go back here. Don’t waste your time! | 50 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 11/20 Foam (13) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | December 29, 2011 Conveniently located on West Liberty Blvd. in Dormont between PGH. city limits and the South hills ... They don’t open until 5 pm now. Used to be 4. The diner employees next door will let you in to grab some bottles, however if they aren’t real busy but they never seem to know how much anything costs so, it can be a hassle . Bridget, the manager is a cool chik . Prices are ok but they have a 4-bottle minimum purchase rule.(their rule, not LCB’s rule.) Kind’ve annoying sometimes . Bombers are usually well-priced in the $6-10 range . A lot of the coolers have burned out lights/bulbs that have not been replaced in the 3 years that i’ve been shopping here. WTF ? | 34 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 3/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 5/20 cheap (136) Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania | July 8, 2010| Updated July 8, 2011 Ok, so this place does have a few bottles of very popular micros and non american beers, but just the most popular 100 er so. Also, it doesn’t open until 4 on weekdays. | 58 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 gsmitty80 (169) Washington DC | August 1, 2007| Updated July 8, 2011 There aren’t too many 6 pack shops in the South Hills where you can cheaply mix a 6 pack of seasonals and macros but at Tom’s beer store, connected to Tom’s diner in Dormont, you can do just that. Great location on West Liberty road if you are comming back from town and want to pick up a few beers and not a whole case or 12-pack. |
