Stopped on a Tuesday night, First bartender was great, very friendly and nice, but he left at 6pm and the night shift came in, some bossy and demanding girl types, and a laid back bro who wanted to talk about shotgunning PBRs, food was okay, the chicken sandwich was priced okay, potato salad was odd and mustard-y.. beer made it worth it, just having PtE on tap. lots of other local beers, Bottle prices are just crazy though, unbelieveable crazy
Rough interior is open and homey, plenty of seating - but damn, itís noisy! Hard to have a conversation. At least there arenít any TVs to distract or annoy you. Selection is awesome, lots of great California crafts. Server is helpful and friendly. Now if only the wi-fi worked.
Visited 22.4.16. Everything was pretty much perfect in this place. The somewhat of a dive bar vibe with lots of plaques and neon signs. The amazing selection in the jukebox. The knowledgeable and patient staff. The brilliant beer on tap. The vegan banh mi. My fave spot in North Park.
The Spicy J-Bags burger was very good and the service was adequate. The beer selection was solid. Overall, the ambiance was pretty meh, as I didnít quite care for the juvenile flair interspersed amongst the establishment, but this wouldnít prevent me from coming back.
I was here when they first opened but apparently never rated it. On this visit I had a pretty good Toronado burger. Found a couple beers I hadnít rated. Itís basically like the original Toronado SF. But larger with food.
Pretty clean pup. Well lit, bright wood and paint, big windows at the front. The bar spans two different rooms- the main bar and what looked a bit more like a dining room. Lots of taps and bottles from locals and around the country. Some real unexpected offerings (Rock Mill Saison, for example). The bartender I was served by for most of my visit was friendly, quick with a beer, and knowledgeable. The second barkeep I dealt with had that Toronado pretentiousness going on, but maybe she just didnít want to work Halloween, I wouldnít blame her. A nice bar. Nothing special in the atmosphere but you come here for the beer selection. Worth it.
A bit disappointing compared to the awesome San Francisco pub. Maybe I was here on a wrong day, as many of the taps were empty and they were out of many of the bottles on their list. Loads of locals and some LA brews on tap. A lot bigger than the SF place, though, and they serve food here. But donít worry, youíll get the same grumpy service here as well.
