Not much of a place for atmosphere. But a must see in San Fran. Beer selection is awesome. Went to order one off the board but they were out and they suggested and alternative. Real hippie bar, no cigarettes allowed (others smokes allowed). First place Iíll hit next time in SF.

I find the dive bar feel quite charming. Cool, unpretentious and relaxed. Service was actually quite OK and quick at our visit. Absolutely awesome selection at our visit with 20 or so Russian River -tion beers on draught as well as a few others and plenty of other breweries. Cable Car was available in bottles. Prices were more than fair. Iíd probably hang around here if I was local. Shitters looked gross at first sight, but the facilities themselves were surprisingly clean.

A dive with some sticky surfaces, which is expected if you know of the place. Service was surprisingly good. Selection was fantastic, although bottle list at other locations is much better. Half pours and no flights. Prices were decent for what they were offering. A good spot where there is no pretense.

Stopped by just to see what the fuss was about. Ambiance is a bit too noisy and dark but hey, itís a bar. God knows how many taps and bottles on sale but at least 20 and 50 respectively. Staff are your typical bar keeps. Friendly enough but really have to clamp down when it gets busy. About $5-6 for a pour and $1 off for happy hour so itís pretty good for the stuff theyíre serving.

In the door as they openend on a slightly rainy Wednesday, our last full day in SF. Definitely has a the feel of a dive bar with a great beer selection. Taplist is impressive, and the prices even more so. With about 50 taps more than 90% were priced at $5-6, a single $4 (Anchor Steam), a couple $7, an $8, and a sole $13. It was apparently happy hour so our beers were $1 off. For the quality of the stuff theyíre serving there are bars that would charge $2 more per pour. Iím impressed at their dedication to keeping good craft beer available to everyone. Nice eclectic mix of hard rock, metal, older alternative stuff. Contrasting this with sayÖ Mikkeller, the list is maybe a notch below it in ďrarityĒ, but a whole lot better in value. Not sure about flights here or anything else, but I didnít see that as an option at Mikkeller either. And at least here if you get a beer youíre not in love with, it didnít cost you a ton to find out. Iíd come here again next time Iím out, well worth the stop.
Only thing I could really knock is the cash only aspect, and as long as you know ahead of time, itís not a huge deal. Plus theyíve got an ATM on site.

Visited on a Tuesday night in November 2015. Dive bar on Haight St, great range of beer on, music pumping and decent service. Sat in the back room which was fairly quiet, tried a couple of good beers. Itís a good place to go visit but think other places in the city are better.

Visited on a recent trip out to the left coast for beercation. I drank 1 beer and left. The draft lineup was nice and the bottles were great but the place was not merely a dive bar...it was filthy. Like sticky bar and old crust jammed in the crack where the bar was attached filthy with a nasty stench in the air. And I wouldíve tolerated that if it werenít for rude awful service...the guy had the air about him that said "Iíve been doing this for years. Longer than you. And Iím too cool for it which makes me special. Which makes you unimportant." And his service backed it up. A guy who makes a snide comment when you were unaware that they didnít take credit cards (my bad...I live 3000 miles away and after all...it is 2015) and then barely speaks at all in taking orders is not cool, hip, or any other characteristic that he fancies himself. Heís a poor server/bartender and needs to reconsider his chosen profession. I was thoroughly disappointed after being very excited to go there and will never go back.

Stopped by on a Monday evening. Small, dark place with fairly loud music, but surprisingly easy to get a table. Bartender was pretty friendly and service was fast. Prices were decent, and the taplist was solid, albeit not amazing. Only being able to pay in cash is a pain. Definitely worth a stop, but not a place I would visit often if I lived in San Francisco.

Been there during a visit of San Francisco. A very rustic Pub atmosphere, but thatís how I like it! It was quite crowded, but the barkeeper always served us quite fast. Selection is nice and international, but also some locals - many people come here for Pliny I guess. Seeing a 2014 Cable Car bottle for 60$ to drink on the premises is not that nice. Taps are pretty cheap for CA. Paid 5$ for the Pliny I had during Happy Hour, would have been 6 otherwise. Definitely one of *the* places to check out in San Francisco.

Went there years ago and remember it well. Lots of craft beers on the chalkboard and busy with a wide variety of folks. Not the cheapest place around but pretty good for picking out craft beer selections.
