A very modern and minimalist place, hid behind one of the most unnoticeable doors in Brooklyn. The place is not very big, but itís light and inviting, with simple wooden furniture. Very cool bar with 21 taps, also in wood, ranging from light to dark, and with three size options on most taps. The selection is top class, both when it comes to styles, breweries. The focus seems to be evenly geographically divided, making this one of obvious places for good European brew in the city. Obviously a lot of whatís on are one offs and hard to get stuff, and taps seem rotate rather quickly. The bottle list equally impressive, and quite extensive given the limited releases on some of the bottles. Staff is service minded, knowledgeable and more than willing to give advice or discuss beer. Itís not, per se, a cheap place, but still it terrific value for money.

What can be said that hasnít already? Phenomenal and diverse selection... clean and modern Nordic vibe... multiple pour options... efficient service. It can be slightly out of the way if youíre in Manhattan, but you should go out of your way to visit.

Awesome place!! The atmosphere is a little modern looking, not like an old pub, with granite bar top and stools. The service was awesome, very attentive, with a staff that was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about beer. Incedible selection, both draft and bottle. Decent prices overall, especially for this expensive area. They offer 5, 8 and 14 oz. pours of each beer. great place.

What a spot. 20+ taps well mixed. Speakeasy meets Scandinavia vibe. Great bottle list. Here in middle of the day so not sure how crazy it would be. But great all around spot.

As far as overall experience goes this blows every other beer bar Iíve been to out of the water. Light years ahead of everything else in New York and all the European places Iíve visited. Super friendly staff, beautiful decor and nothing but hits on the tap list. Canít wait to return.

Going to Torst was certifying, yuan unforgettable experience. The place has no exterior sign so it took a few minutes to find it. The interior looks like something out of an ikea catalog, mots of bleached wood and uncomfortable furniture, which is not surprising given its Nordic origins. The bathroom is coed but thats neither here nor there for Brooklyn. Apparently there are plans to develop a back room as a restaurant bit it wasnít open when I visited. They have 21 taps regulated by a contraption that looks like it was borrowed from the set of 2010. I was surprised that ony 2 of the 21 taps were evil twin but they have a lot of variety and certainíy somethings that arenít common elsewhere. The bottle list had way more evil twin and other goodies. I like that beers were available in 8 ounce pours which encourages tasting more varieties. The prices were hit or miss. The staff seemed to be passionate about beer and made some good suggestions. I think Iíll come back during the day when I heard it was less crowded.

Iíve been here a couple of times now, each time with a group of friends. This certainly seems the kind of place you want to go with a few people. Not to say I wouldnít go here alone, Iíd just rather go with others as the tap list and bottle list are rather daunting and it makes it very nice to be able to order a few things and share them. First time here there were 10-15 of us and it never seemed to present a problem for the servers and they continued to be super friendly and helpful all the way through. The dťcor is sort of a lightly refined sauna. Lots of wood on the walls but enough modern aspects mixed in to make it feel very welcoming. For a small long place with windows only at the front, it never seemed overly dark, perhaps due to the huge (and well lit) behind the length of the bar. That is one of the only tough things at times, the taplist is written on the mirror and can be a bit tough to read at times. The tap list both times Iíve been here has been solid, lots of Evil Twin, some Mikkel, and some other interesting stuff. Plenty of new things to try each time, and often more than I could get through in a day, even sharing pours (a lot of them tend toward the bigger side). The bottle list is nice as well, offering a lot of harder to come by Evil Twin stuff, and smaller batch things. While there may have been things like Blabaer or other crazy things on the bottle list at one point, that is not the reason to come here. Thatís more of a unexpected bonus if there happens to be something like that on, but donít count on it, and certainly donít come just for that. Come for the lists (tap and bottle) full of things that may be equally hard to come by, just not as well known or talked about. And get the Danish bread. Seriously. Get a few orders of it. That stuff is incredible.
