70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 womencantsail (390) Garbage Grove, California | March 27, 2011 Yet another unassuming spot for craft beer. You would think from the outside this place is just another dumpy liquor store.
The craft beer is split up into six packs and singles. The six packs are in the right corner on the far wall and there is only one door of them. I didn’t really check them out too much as I was not interested in purchasing six packs.
The BMC beers are to the left of the sxers and then there are about four doors full of craft/imported singles, and then another two around the corner. Pretty decent selection of Belgian and German imports. A rather interesting mix of American craft. Nothing too hard to find, but offerings from Stone, Double Dead Guy, some Avery, some DFH, some AleSmith Sierra, and limited Lost Abbey offerings.
Good prices (I usually see the Double Dead Guy for 15, they were selling it for 11 and change). Most beers were "average" price although (like I mentioned) there were a few "steals".
The service was not all that great (I wasn’t even greated when I walked in), but I generally don’t mind that as I know what I’m looking for.
A nice little store to stop in if you’re nearby, but not the best I’ve ever been to. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 10/20 JK81 (39) California | July 21, 2010 This place has decent selection of beers, but nothing special, better then average liq store. | 70 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Goodgrief (27) Middletown, Delaware | January 11, 2010 Was staying in Orange Cty and just looking for a place to grab a brew or two for the hotel at night. I scored a Pizza Port Hop 15 and a Goose Island Bourbon County (had to travel all the way to the WC to get a beer from back east when I’m from the EC myself!). I also saw a Pizza Port Older Viscosity and some other beers from Stone, Alaskan, Kona and others. Some decent Germans and Belgians, too.
A real hole in the wall place, but not a bad place to pick up some good brews. Prices seemed more than reasonable, but have no perspective of other local prices. | 66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 can8ianben (93) Souderton, Pennsylvania | November 20, 2008 Very happy to find Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout here! They carry both local brewers - the Bruery, and Bootleggers, but I agree with others in saying that their selection is not as big as they claim. However they seem to know what unique stuff to carry and try and track down. Worth the stop if you head to Fullerton to visit the breweries in town. | 56 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 Hophead22 (60) Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California | October 5, 2008 Decent selection of singles, not out of the ordinary. Pretty much walked in and walked out. | 52 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 kegbear (8) Orange, California | June 20, 2008 They advertise 400 beers, but they must be counting total number of bottles and not types. I would say they carry more like 150 different beers. Still it is better than your average store and had a few nice ones like Pizza Port Hop 15 and Old Viscosity. You’re better off going to Hollingshead though. | 36 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 7/20 ghawener (70) San Salvador, El Salvador | May 28, 2006 A small stop on a Disneyland visit, great beer selection, sells bottles individually, got 18 new ones. Owner could show a bit more interest as his sign reads "400 Beers" but is not very servicable. Overall, worth the drive. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 y0cola (21) fremont, California | October 3, 2005 great selection. i found some real treats in here. only place i’ve seen speedway stout ( i live in northern cal.) so i swooped that little guy up. good stop | 44 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 6/20 Heatwaves (3) Santa Ana, California | September 21, 2005 This place is a total hole in the wall. Basically, it’s just a small liquor store that has a small section of harder to find beer. In fact, this place had the common "corner liquor store" vibe that I thought I went to the wrong place. But sure enough, they do have a quaint little beer section. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get here as Hollinghead, Hi Times and BevMo all have better selections, but it’s nice if you just stumble upon it. They have Stones, AleSmiths, Rochefort 8/10, Rogue and Old Rasputin. Not too shabby. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 JohnC (147) Mission Viejo, California | May 3, 2004 Small, non-descript store in an old strip mall, that’s quite a find. If you’re in north Orange County, stop by for beer. |
