The atmosphere was very unique and welcoming. There is plenty of space for large groups and dining. The beer selection was minimal and consisted of common genres of beer.

nice microbrewery with great atmosphere. Good variety of brew selections. Most of the beers tend to be a bit average craft brews but they do have some very good seasonal. Food is good too.

The staff is very knowledgeable about thier industry, the food is always good and the beers are good, not great, the atmosphere and responsible crowd make the experience much richer than the beer.

I was relatively suprised by this place. The beers are somewhat lacking (and from the looks of the ratings, extremely inconsistent), but the food was good. Our waitress, Ashlie (that’s actually how she spells it) was excellent, knowledgeable of both the food and drink, and very attentive. The grilled tuna sandwich was delicious, and they have great fries. Go for the establishment, not so much the beers. Filled up and went for a nice bike ride on the Katy trail, which practically touches the brewery.

(Visited 08/2007): Trailhead Brewing Co is located in St. Charles in a quaint little area on Riverside Drive. There are a couple small parking lots adjacent, as well as parking along the entire street. The restored building is really pretty, boasting a large tank in the back that is emblazoned with the logo. Inside there are multiple levels with a bar on the main floor. The atmoshphere is rustic. Trailhead offers 6 different beers with one being a seasonal. They have a sampler for a little under $7 so you can try all the beers. They range from Light to Stout with nothing too unique. All of the beers are average at best. Service is good at this brewpub. Our server knew all of the beers and was clearly knowledgeable about what was on the sampler. She made good food recommendations too. Speaking of food, it made up somewhat for the lackluster beers. The crab & artichoke dip was pretty tasty. The BBQ chicken was a little dry but overall pretty good, and the fries were great. All in all the good outweighs the not-so-good at this establishment, but it’s too bad that the not-so-good is the main reason I wanted to visit in the first place. I would give this place another shot but honestly none of the beers made me think I really had to come back the next time I visit St. Louis.

Wide variety of foods--burgers, pizzas, salads, etc. 5 beers and a seasonal on tap. The beers are good. The location is excellent, right on historic Main St. in St. Charles

Nice litle place in downtown St. Charles. Beer and food are both fair. About 5 regualr beers plus one seasonal. Not a bad place for a quick stop, but dont expect too much.

Visited a few times before, and the atmosphere is always fun. We tried the sampler this time and enjoyed all but one. We ordered a meal and they were both very good. The service at the bar is lacking a smile now and then, but overall, a decent place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Very nice Brewery in historic area of St Charles. Decor is inviting. Great Place to take out of towner’s. Beer quality is hit and miss. There beer seems to be better quality during the fall & winter months. Typically a good selection on tap. Menu has many good choices. Growlers are available.
