Just wanted to add to my previous review. Everything below us still accurate I just wanted to add that they have really upped their game with the food! Awesome!! This place has got their act together. You can tell the owners love beer. Everything in the proper glassware. Glycol cooled lines. Crazy selection. The Chimay was yummy. Belgian and Belgian style American beers par excellence. Place is packed almost all the time. Fun crowd in there. The menu is slowly expanding but it is top notch as far as quality.
Itís obvious that Cecil 24 is not an honest reviewer. I have been in Trappeze a few times lately and they definitely are not what youíd call a domestic beer joint. Those guys have St. Bernardus Abt 12, Left Hand Milk Stout, Old Rasputin, Trois Pistoles, Averyís Salvation, and Chimay on tap to name a few. I have had all of those beers there in the past two weeks and each one of them was served to me in prime condition in proper glassware. To Read Cecil24ís review youíd think this place served natty lite in pitchers for 3 bucks with hotdogs. The reality is that if you want to drink the best selection of beer in Athens you go to this bar.

Great location in downtown Athens. Walk through a large dining area to get to the bar. It was fairly dead on a Monday night which was good for me. The had a nice tap list that focused on local and interesting brews. Crowd seemed to be a bit younger as it is a college town. Beer was served in correct glassware and service was quick. Prices were about average. Overall a nice place to have a beer.

Located in downtown Athens, easy to find, it has a lived-in and relaxing interior, the feel of a real neighborhood bar. Service is alert, helpful, and friendly but not overly friendly. Beer selection is quite impressive, emphasizing crafts, especially locals - plenty of Terrapin on hand! Food is very good, tasty and satisfying. You can get full servings, or halls if you want to sample quite a few beers without getting too full - or sloshed. A must if you live within even a few hours of Athens - and you donít have to be a Dawgs fan, either.

Visited on a hot Wednesday afternoon. Pleasant and cool inside, and not so crowded. Large dining area and bar area with seven booths and space for maybe 15 people at the bar. Nice, more or less eclectic, beer list -- 33 taps (maybe half from the South, and 12 of them from Georgia) and 250+ bottles. No bottle list, and I had to glance around at the several coolers -- bar guy simply said, "I havenít counted lately". Service was okay, uncaring and nothing special. Prices are fairly high: half-pours ranging from $2.75 to $5.25 and 120z. pours from $4.50 to $9.00. Two specialty flights of four x 5oz. pours were on: one flight of Lagunitas brews for $14 and one of Evil Twin for $28 (ouch!), and both flights included some rarer beers. Limited wine and cocktail list. Fairly loud music on the system: country, alt-pop, and classic rock. Beers are in great condition and poured carefully. A very nice place -- great for the southern US, but doesnít really stack up with the best ones in other parts of the country.

Visited during our stay in Atlanta area. Nice bar packed into a college town that doesnít seem to completely fit. That being said, a nice setup and location. They had over 25+ taps and an extensive bottle list. Nothing overly special, very solid, but hardly any locals to chose from. The food was good, nothing special, but worth lunch or dinner. I think you got what you paid for as prices were not super high. I thought Overall it was a great place caught in a college town. Definitely recommend if you are passing thru Athens or taking in a GA game

Surprised to find a place like this in a college town, just doesnít fit here, but its a great spot. 30 taps, some real gems like Gozu, everything comes in a half pours for the ticker. The draft list was impressive, but wish it focused slightly more on local stuff. The bottle list wasnít all the impressive, basically stuff thatís available anywhere. Vintage list didnít have anything rar. The food was quite excellent and you canít beat the prices. Service was quick and knowledgable. Come for the drafts and food and you wonít be disappointed, not one of the top bars in the world, top tier for the US.

Bar/restaurant with large bar and tons of seating. Lots of large tables good for large parties. Extensive draft list with nice variety of locals, fresh IPAs (i.e. Lagunitas Sucks) and nice selection of stouts. Decent bottle selection, but no bottle menu or list when I was there so kind of a pain to inquire about prices and availability. Still, overall a great beer bar in a cool part of Athens.

Awesome place! Very old world feel with the large amounts of wood booths and nice bar; no TVs, so all about the beer and conversation. Service was great, but I was one of like 4 people there, so the bartender was attentive; he definitely knew his stuff too. Selection was great, didnít check out the bottle list, but it looked like they had about four reach-ins worth with a vintage area. Value is on par with what you expect, and they offer half pours, generous with samples, and flights of really cool stuff. Definitely the best place in town; looking forward to frequenting it.

Fantastic bar, even has the feel of a Belgian Bar, the service I had was top class and the beers I drank were excellant. I stayed in the Holiday Inn downtown, which was a 5 minute walk over the road. Nice large wooden booths if youíre with a small party, I was with a friend and we sat at the bar. There was plenty of college kids in there, and they seemed pretty well behaved (I am an old bloke, haha) but it is a college town, so itís only to be expected, I was happy to see them all drinking great beers, and Trappeze has a first class selection. I saw people eating burgers but I didnít eat myself, I will be upset if I never get to go back!!
