There’s no question about it. This bar has the best draft beer selection in northern Indiana. They get numerous great beers and are continually changing the selection. That’s the good part. On the other hand, I don’t know how the service ratings here are so high. Unfortunately I get consistently poor service. It’s slow. The staff often know little to nothing about the beers. The menus have no prices for what can be quite expensive pours. My most recent visit was during a special tasting night with 15 beers from Bell’s. The food menu had been whittled down to just 3 items, presumably to make things go faster. It didn’t work. They weren’t THAT busy. We got a table immediately and a couple others were empty nearby. It took ages to get any service at all. Finally I flagged someone down. It quickly became clear that the waitress didn’t know anything about the beer, even the beers that were the feature for the special event that night. Of the food items, one was a burger and fries, but when we asked if we could just get the fries, we were told no. So they’re making fries to go with the burgers, but they can’t sell the fries separately. Slow was the theme of the night and we saw at least one table of people get up and leave because they didn’t get served at all. I went in wanting to have a couple beers and stay awhile. We left after one beer even though there were other great choices on tap that I’d have loved to try. It just wasn’t worth it. Multiple prior visits have been almost as bad. It’s not a one night thing. I hate to knock an overall rating down so much when the beer is so spectacular, but there have been too many bad experiences.

An amazing little spot....easy access, friendly and knowledgable staff.....didn’t bat an eye at our beer geek conversations, comparisons and note taking.....gifted us with a little free swag and discounted T-shirts..... Startling display of taps...if you can’t something that piques your interest here, go home to your own cellar and stay there...nice variety and rotation...... Just slightly pricy, but worth every penny.....6 pints, one flight of samples, 4 meals@90 bucks......had a fabulous time...Big thumbs up!

I feel compelled to update my original review. I still maintain the craft beer tap selection is the best available in this part of the state. However, over the last few months and visits, I’ve watched the quality of the food go from standard pub fare, to downright tragic. On my last visit, my entree was inedible, so I sent it back to the kitchen. The replacement they sent was no better, so I left the plate untouched and let my waitress know it wasn’t edible. The waitress made no attempt to offer any type of compensation, or get a manager involved, and I was still charged full price for the meal. I was pretty put out, because my tab included quite a bit of beer and two other sub par meals for my companions. Obviously, this also changes how I feel about the service. Having worked my way through college as a waitress, I know that being rude and unpleasant to the wait staff is out of order, but I was feeling rather tempted to throw a fit. The place is still a great destination for beer, and I absolutely love their BrewHaven festival in August, but buyer beware the food.

Great bar for Fort Wayne area. Their selection is pretty damn good, with a huge selection of dank beers on tap, somewhere in the 50s. Surprised to find some good sours here. This is a must stop for any beer fan since there really isn’t any other place with such a stellar selection in the area.

Easy to find corner location with street Parking. Quiet mid-afternoon visit with bar on right and another room on left with tables for food and beverages. Freindly bartender and she had good knowledge of beers and seemed to be bartender, cook and server and did all well. 58 taps and I had three new beers. Did not get to eat. Enjoyed the visit and this is the second time there.

From outside the place looks like any other small town bar with pool tables, regulars etc. BUt when you step in and see the taps lined up in the bar, I say WOW. Great staff and service, food was excellent. Had a such a tender steak. Samplers from their tap selection. What else could you ask ;-). Highly recommended.

Trion is a true treasure for the microbrew fan. Over 50 beers on tap now. Excellent Bells and 3 Floyds Selections. The Southern Tier Beers are a must try. This is a smaller bar in a small town, but the tastes are big city! Food is standard bar fare, but a few dishes stand out. Service is outstanding, bar keeps are knowledgealbe. If you are within a 90 minute drive, iit is a must location.

The draw for this place is the tap list. They have an insane amount of great beer on tap and they bring new beers in frequently. The food is good pub grub, but I haven’t eaten much of the menu. The staff is nice and will let you taste if you don’t know if you want to buy. This is a great stop if you find yourself stuck in the Ft. Wayne area.

You know this place has such an excellent selection and all on tap. 54 beers on tap including the best by FFF, Southern Tier, Great Divide, Mikkeller, Chimay and others. A lot of these beers you just can’t get anywhere. And to boot they have a nice option to buy a flight of 5 beers for 10 bucks. Great idea. I I didnt have the food so I rated as average. The selection is typical bar fare though. One thing that keeps this bar from being the highest rated bar for me is the smoking. Seriously how the fuck am are you supposed to taste and smell a beer in a cloud of smoke? You can’t. If it werent for this I would go back more often, but for now JKO is where I am going to go.

I simply love this place! Having grown up in New Haven the Trion was always known as a basic bar...then things changed and it has become a craft brew drinkers wet dream! The 45 taps of amazing brews keep me coming back whenever I can. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is far better than standard pub fair, so this is a worthwhile stop even if you’re not a beer geek (or are with a non beer geek.) Do yourself a favor and stop in and have a pint or five!
