I grew up in new haven so the trion tavern has been a favorite of mine for quite some time now. Having seen it go through some changes in ownership and management i think that the establishment is at one of its highest in a while. The owner Greg is a very nice guy who will sit down and take you suggestions and comments in person (unlike some places that use the oh so personal card system). The beers that he has always on tap are good beers but also goes one up with some of the temporary beers. And, as an ex smoker or trying to quit smoker the fact that you can smoke is nice when its been a long day and you just dont want to go out and smoke in the rain. Overall great place with a good pub atmosphere and great staff.

Best tap selection in NE Indiana hands down. Recently had Three Floyds Behemoth, DFH Palo Santo Marron, and Bells Bourbon Barrel Expedition/Double Cream Stout just to name a few. Food is pub fare, but very tasty and very reasonable. Greg, the owner, is very friendly and he is really trying to make his establishment a craft beer destination. A must visit if in the area.

Iím a little biased, because Iím actually employed there, But Iíll shoot you straight. If Iím anything, Iím honest. Iíve heard many of the people I serve beer to talk about this website so I figured I better check it out. If you come to The Trion, ask for Aaron. For North East Indiana I think weíve got a hell-uvía selection of good beer, but Iím not here to preach, Iím here to learn.

First time visit on 2/5/09. Did not like the fact that smoking is allowed in the bar so sat in the family room which made me feel isolated from the rest of this establishment. Service was friendly and timely. Ordered the fish and chips which was very good. The Bells Bourbon Barrell Double Cream/Expedition Stout beer was excellent! Thanks to Greg for being able to offer this beer to people like myself who enjoy and appreciate "good" beer! A good visit; however, I enjoy sitting in the bar area when at a bar but it was just too smokey when I was there.

Repeated visits reveals some oddities. Their food inventory isnít always well managed so that if theyíre out of something you ordered, the kitchen may just substitute on their own. Theyíve been out of ketchup for lunch. They also have a difficult time keeping up with their beer inventory. I was told last night that one of their loyal customers keeps the list updated at GreatBeer.com which I assume to be here. But the list had only 1, so Iíll try to get as many as I can remember in. What this means is that all of the tables have ads for beers they no longer have on tap. But they taps are easy to identify and they do have quite a range. Overall, the food is reasonable and the beer selection is really good for a place like this. Plus you can smoke pipes and cigars. What more could you ask for these days?

Just visited this place for the first time this week, and they have the best beer selection in the Fort Wayne area. On tap - Breckenridge 471, Arrogant Bastard, Gumballhead, Bells Expedition Stout, just to name a few. I thought I died and went to heaven! Best of all - they have a non smoking family room so the whole family can enjoy the food and I can have great beer. Although my focus is the beer, the food (keep in mind this is a tavern), service and the owner, Greg, are great. We will be spending alot of time here!! Only negative- the bar can get a bit smokey, but given the beer selection - I can work through it.

Rerate: Havenít been in this place in quite some time...basically just let me say that The Trion has a ridiculous selection, that cannot be disputed. Issues with The Trion run much deeper than the beer...the servers/bartenders are great...with that said, I have a hard time not bringing up the prices and the ownerís attitude. I stopped going in here because of the incessant negativity towards other establishments in the area and because of the pricing. The Trion isnít the only "game" in town now and frankly, I canít see the justification in the pricing of their beers as well as the "dogginí
out of the other bars/restaurants in town that have started carrying better beer. It gets old and unless it changes, I wonít be returning.
