Great location in the heart of Berkeley. Minimalist, yet classic decor. Very welcoming. This place seems to attract all ages and walks of life, which is cool. It obviously skews toward the college crowd at certain times especially on Saturdays when they crowd the place for Cal football. I got a burger here once which was very good, but I usually only come for the beer. This rating is an update for me since my appreciation for Rodger’s brewing skills has grown big time. Triple Rock makes by far my favorite hoppy beers in the Bay Area, and they are very prolific. I stop in at least once a month and there are always, on average, 3 or so new beers on tap. The service is good with mostly college kids managing the bar. Say hello to Rodger if you can. He’s a great guy and very friendly to the homebrew community. The single hop series they do blows away anything I’ve had from Mikkeller or Sam Adams. Of course it’s fresh here, but doing a single hop series with low gravity pale ales is the way to go instead of muddling the hops with caramel malt laden IPA’s. The IIMAXX when it’s on is one of my favorite all time IIPA’s. If your traveling to the Bay Area, this place is an absolute MUST!

Great place. We were there for the Firkin Festival, and there were about 20 brewers from the Bay Area. Hard to rate since we were there during an event. Considering that, the service was amazing very friendly, and if they organize these kinds of events I assume that the selection is pretty good too.

Cool little brewpub in Berkeley right near Cal. The place is old/OG, and you get that feeling when you’re in there. Everything is wood, pretty much. Service is great, food is great, though the beers can be hit or miss. They have a tons of stuff on tap which is awesome, though only a handful really rotate much.

Enjoyed this brewpub. I did not try any food, just the spectrum sampler. There was 12 beers to sample. Have not seen a selection this good exept at valley brew. All of the beers were really enjoyable. Good service, amd a decent ambiance made it a nice visit.

Just a couple blocks up Shattuck from the BART station. Small place. There are three people at the bar who have managed to take up all of the seating. They had several house brew options. Their IPEX was solid. Had the hand cut fries with mild spices that really tasted good and hit the spot. Two big flat panel displays set up for supreme sports viewing. They have a tiny brew set up next to the bar and front door. It looks to be less than a 5 BBL system. Overall the beer selection is limited compared to nearby pubs. But I don’t think you’ll find their hose brews elsewhere. If so it is worth a visit for something new to try.

Overall a great place to have some EXCELLENT ales on tap.Their APA’s and IPA’s are really good, and they always have something nice on nitro. The food is mediocre, but you don’t go here for the food. You go here for beer, which they have plenty of 5-star beers on tap.

Liked this a lot. The architecture and the decor are pretty old-fashioned and ideal for drinking. Feels like a less-mining town version of Falling Rock. The beer is noticeably not great which is the big downfall. Crowds gather fast.

This brewpub is nice and roomy with a very open layout and a nice view of them making beer from the bar. The food is relatively cheap. I had a tasty grilled chicken sandwich on a roll with fries for $7. The rooftop patio is great for sipping beer in the sun and they had a wide variety of beers on tap with 5oz tasters available for $1.50. Overall the beer was good not super and I liked the food. I’ll be back.
