70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Leafs93 (107) Conshohocken, Pennsylvania | February 27, 2011 Decent all around, nothing groundbreaking but they make solid beers. Food is good. The seem to rotate styles frequently. I would like to see them try to really make a breakout beer, I think they have the capability. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 ssb2much (10) New Jersey | January 27, 2011 Good bar. good beer. good food. Come here once in a while. It’s always the first bar i go to when in princeton. Cool layout in the building too | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 someviking (13) old bridge, New Jersey | December 25, 2010 top quality beers all the time. and the dry stout is to die for. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 trapped (23) , Turkey | November 7, 2010 Seven beers on tap, nice food menu. Not too many choices of dishes but very adequate. They had live music on a Saturday night and the place had a nicely balanced crowd of students and older couples/families. Not crowded at all. Nice place to be in. | 70 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 TheVikingWL (8) , New Jersey | September 9, 2010 Been here numerous times, and I never have any complaints about the beers they brew. Can’t say much about the food as I’ve only eaten there once and I don’t remember how it was. Service is usually alright except for one really unprofessional, snotty lady that worked the bar one evening. Great atmosphere though, almost city-lounge like and enough bar space and tables. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 italianjohn (151) Penndel, Pennsylvania | April 14, 2010 High ceilings and a bustling atmosphere right in the heart of princetons shopping and dining area is the best way to describe the brewery. The place was full of a good mix of adults and young business people. I sat at the small bar and they had the place well staffed. They have a standard lineup of beers which are all good and unfortunately dinner wasn’t my purpose there, but the menu looked a bit pricey. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 14/20 iggynelix (11) Pennsylvania | February 11, 2010 Recently had dinner and drinks with a group of friends here at the Princeton location of a regional brewpub chain. . The ambiance is typical of your modern high-end dining establishment. I generally like Triumph’s beers and several of our crew each started with the sample tray. The brew-board and sampler did were not in alignment, causing some tasting disappointments.
The staff are mostly friendly; look for bouncers with a sense of humour. While the food and beers tend to be delicious, the price is extravagant for a brew pub.. but typical for the high end restaurants of Princeton. Princeton ONLY fills their own growlers... if you bring in another .. it will go home empty - this made me NOT want to support the establishment as a true Brewpub; but rather as a place that serves locally brewed beer. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Chalsk (41) North Caldwell, New Jersey | December 25, 2009 A nice brewpub. But pretty expensive, even for Princeton. The selection was typical of a micro brewpub. I visited before my venture into the Belgiums and other advance craft brews. Solid beer, but nothing beyond that. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 kseecs16 (194) Naperville, Illinois | October 30, 2009 Visited on a Wednesday night and the place was plenty busy. The Phillies, Yankees World Series debut may have played a part in that, regardless it was a lively crowd and the large room was bustling but not loud. A nicely built and decorated room dominated by the large brewing tanks behind the bar. Food was excellent for a brewpub and the beers I tried, 4 in total were all good, though nothing knocked me out. Nothing really unique on tap just a regular lineup of Amber, IPA, Dry Stout, Nut Brown, Honey Wheat and a seasonal Pumpkin and Oktoberfest. Service was prompt and friendly, we had a chance to talk to the chef who seemed very passionate about his food (as well as the Phillies) and he was kind enough to send us over an appetizer. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 dmac (34) Toms River, New Jersey | July 30, 2009 Can’t believe I have fallen off on my place ratings so much. I’ve been here several times now and this is one of the more upscale brewpubs you will find. It is after all in the center of downtown Princeton so a certain area of preppy snootyness is expected but actually it wasn’t that bad. The beers are always solid but it would be nice to see them throw on a few more rotating specials and ease up on the staples that alwas seem to be on and never seem to interest me. The food is good but a bit on the pricey side. Growlers available but what the hell is up with the clear jugs?? |
