Visited mid-afternoon on a Thursday. Unique building, with an interior that has a bunch of character. Smallish bar area up front, "cafe" table seating in the back. I was there on a crap weather day, so didnít see the outdoor seating, which looked like it would be good. Good jazz was playing at the right volume in the bar. Tap selection is Belgian focused, beer list the same - nothing rare or limited here, but all around solid. Service was great, very attentive and knowledgeable. I had the mussels, which were way over-spiced - which was probably good because the mussels did not taste real fresh. Overall, solid spot to hit before or after the Lakefront tour.

Stopped in for dinner and beers. The waiter was helpful in negotiating the beer menu with helpful comments on the lowland brewed Belgians, I really liked three of these beers, the wit, dubbel, and Xmas ale. Decent beer list mix of Belgians and US micros.

Great restaurant with one of the best atmospheres in the city. Plus, they have a heated patio that is perfect for wasting the day away. This place is a restaurant, cafe, bar and tabac. One bar is on ground level with about eight taps (some local, but mostly European) and another bar they call the Red Light (http://ztrocadero.com/redlight/main.html) which is upstairs with a few more taps. Have some bottles of French biere de gardes and a fair share of Belgians - probably one of the biggest selection Iíve seen at a restaurant or bar in Milwaukee, in addition to a range of micros and imports. The Mr. Crock sandwich is divine. Highly recommended.

Nice vibe. Would like to be here on a nice day and enjoy the outdoor area. Handful of taps. Should be able to find something but donít expect anything particularly special. Pricey.

I liked this restaurant. They have Fat Abbey on tap... I had half a Mr. Crock and half a Tomato,Basil,Brie sandwich. The Mr. Crock was better. Ate outside. The waitress kept coming back to check up, which was really nice. More wine selection than beer. The bottles selection is poor. Iíd go back and take a date rather than with a fellow Ratebeerian... Iíd like to hitup the coffee bar as well.

A great French influenced Milwaukee restaurant. Great for Sunday brunch or if you just want a drink. Many beers (foreign and domestic micros), wines from around the world and Martinis. Awesome cheese selection and great coffee!

This is a great place to stop after touring Lakefront Brewery
, which in itself is a must when visiting Milwaukee. Itís a short but pleasant walk between the two across the Milwaukee River via the marsupial bridge under Holton Street.
We arrived at the restaurant smack-dab between Brunch and Dinner. In this two-hour gap (3-5 p.m.), there is a void of food service but there are cheese and dessert plates which can be enjoyed. We opted for a tray of Gruyere and 4-year-old Cheddar which were terrific and nice, respectively.
Tap selection was lacking (Bass, Guinness, Newcastle, Hacker Pschorr, Fat Abbey, Kronenbourg 1664, Lakefront Wit and Trumer Pils), but quality bottles included Chimay, Delerium, Duvel, Fischer, La Choulette and (of course) Lakefront.
Service was attentive, atmosphere held a touch of France that was quaint without being hokey, and soft music was relaxing with smooth Jazz a la Eartha Kitt and the like.
Trocadero was recommended by RAYBOY01
, who also recommended the Bloody Marys. I watched a few get poured and they looked awesome, but I had a long drive back to Chicago so sadly couldnít indulge.

Great place for a meal. The atmosphere is nice with great outdoor area. Service is usually good. Beer selection and prices are not a strong suit. Same as the other Lowlands restaurants. Go for the food, not for the beer selection

Visited w/theisti for late light lunch and a beer. Selection was solid - belgian-focused with a few local gems. Food was acceptable - I tried a couple of timís mussels and had the tacos. Tacos were decent, though Iím a taco snob. Interior was warm, cozy, well-thought out if a little small. Being located directly across the pedestrian underpass from Lakefront Brewery is a plus. Would visit again, would like to see how the rest of the menu goes, it looked great.

I love Trocadero. Like a few other Milwaukee restaurants, they usually carry a Lakefront draft not available in bottles. Iíve mostly been here for brunch, which is outstanding (get a coffee, youíll get a little square of Valrhona Ghana chocolate). And I think my brunch favorite is the Mrs. Crock, but I donít recall. In looking at the website they appear to have a lot of cheeses too. And, late night tapas is also a fun time to stop in. The patio is open year-round, and all day and night. Winter is unique because they button off the openings between the roof and wall and light up the butane heat lamps. Great place.
