Took a walk down here after lunch in Japantown. Fairly quick 15-20 minute walk, and approachable from a lot of public transit options. Small shop with a well curated selection. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes a smaller place like this might cater just to the high end, and while they certainly have a good selection on the high end, there’s a lot of lower priced entry level sake as well. Worth a quick stop if you’re into sake.

Like t0rin0, I don’t really know what I’m doing when it comes to Sake, but I like to try some from time to time. This isn’t a very big place, but they pack a bunch of different stuff in to this place. A lot more different kinds than I’ve ever seen before and prices seem pretty reasonable.

The people here were very friendly and seemed quite inclined to help. I would have been more likely to seek out some recommendatioms if I didn’t have to lug around bottles for several hours while on foot. Definitely recommend this place and I’ll have to come back at some point.

Not sure I’m even qualified to rate this place since it’s all about sake and I have no clue when it comes to sake. I showed up as they were closing so I only poked around the shelves and fridges for a few minutes and left. What I can say is that they have tons of different sakes, so if you’re in to trying them definitely check this place out.

This place is quite frankly the best at what it does [period]. The owner, Beau, and another staff member where there to great us. Great customer service. The owner is one of, if not, the most knowledgeable person on Nihonshu that I have ever met. His store reflects that. He knows about ratebeer and had mentioned meeting JoeT before. He is extremely passionate and very helpful in his recommendations. The selection is on another planet. They have everything you could imagine as far as quality sake. Everything. He gets some things that are not distributed in the US, and other things that are restaurant only in CA (the Kubota line). You could easily get two ratings of every sake style by visiting this store, and that is no small task. I stopped in to pick up Daruma Masumne, which appears to be the Holy Grail of Koshus right now. The store is bright and well laid out. Tons of serving vessels and glassware of all shapes/sizes/purposes. Parking is typical for the area (not super easy). Quite frankly the best sake bottle shop I can imagine.

This place is pretty awesome. Beautifully laid out. Arranged (kind of) by style and there are detailed tasting note cards in front of every bottle. I didn’t ask a whole lot of questions when I was in, but the woman behind the counter seemed to know her stuff. I’ve never seen a store like this before.
