84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Phinkle1048 (2) , | January 30, 2012 The beer is great. Don’t fear the bottle list. Some nice finds there. Sat at the bar and the bartendress was extremely knowledgable. Nice down to earth atmosphere unlike many places in the area. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 MikeMoriendi (50) Boynton Beach, | January 12, 2012 Tryst is a great place to have a good meal and a great beer. I love the look and feel of the place until it gets packed (and it does). Then it can be tough to move around in there. They get some of the more rare kegs in as well as your craft staples. A pretty good bottle list too. Their food is outstanding but a little pricey. I’d say it’s worth it though. The service is usually pretty good. If you get Jason at the bar or Dan or Teddy out on the floor they won’t steer your wrong. Becoming a staple in the growing beer town of Delray. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 Shonkers (13) Parkland, Florida | October 23, 2010 Great find--superb happy hour (4-7 PM M-F) with 2-for-1 drafts, with a vast selection of American Craft Beers and Belgian Ales to choose from. Their Happy Hour menu is also well executed, with Fish Tacos, Chicken Pad Thai, etc. for modest prices (for Del Ray Beach.) Atmosphere is wonderful, with a nice indoor wooden bar, and fantastic outdoor patio seating. Great, attentive service. Owner stopped by, and was friendly and personable.
Don’t waste time going next door to the Bull Bar--they literally had all of 4 draft taps total, and the place smelled like a bowling alley, according to my wife. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 dimenhetfield (56) , Florida | September 11, 2010 Delray is becoming a great go to place to enjoy a good meal and a craft beer. This place has a good ambiance, but can get a little crowded on the weekend. The list of beers is pretty impressive. They have a good rotating tap list, as well as Cigar City beers. It’s worth a shot if your in the area. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 dosbeerigos (5) Florida | June 7, 2010 The establishment is defiantly “trendy”, seemed like a young professional crowd. It was cozy inside though, very welcoming. We ordered the following food; Cheese Platter, Mussels, Some Kind of Sweet & Sour Shrimp, and Chicken Pad-Thai. The food was good but the portions were relatively small, but for 50% off I won’t complain. The best thing out of everything was the cheese plate, it was divine.
As for the beer….Tryst has a limited rotating tap selection that is very good considering most places only carry Non-craft on tap. They carry Dogfish Seasonals, Stone, Victory, and more on tap. Pretty diverse selection of beer. Their bottle list was VERY impressive. They even had the insanely hard to find Hunahpu’s from Cigar City in bottle. This is surprising since there were such a limited amount of bottles brought south, and since it was a limited released beer.
The service was good, and not rushed. The waiter did want to make sure that we were educated about the drinks we were purchasing, and offered free samples of other beers/wines that were up-sales. Which was really nice even though we both knew exactly what we wanted.
Overall it was a very good experience, although I don’t think I would go back off Happy Hour and eat. The food was very good but not worth the non-happy hour price. Parking was also a bit of a challenge as it is with any where on Atlantic Ave. |
