78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 DMRz (10) Durham, North Carolina | October 25, 2008 This is one of the best places in Durham to come with friends and enjoy great, hard to find beer. Service has always been friendly and efficient, and their seasonal rotating taps make each trip there interesting. The restaurant and bar sides each have slightly different draft lists so be sure to stop by both. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 earlofboydkins (8) | October 9, 2007 I cannot vouch for the food, but the beer selection is really good for the Durham area. This Taproom is in the recently renovated Durham Tobacco District, which is right beside the home of the Durham Bulls baseball team (of Bull Durham fame). Cool location, helpful service, solid draught selection, can be a little bit noisy, good selection of Carolina sourced beer. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 william146 (5) Winterville, North Carolina | January 18, 2010 I’ve been to the Speakeasy a few times -- great selection of beer on tap. Location can’t be beat - very cool location in the American Tobacco District. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 brownaler (5) Topsail Beach, North Carolina | October 13, 2005| Updated October 18, 2005 This place is great. Much more open than the Carrboro Tyler’s. There are many things that I prefer here over the Flying Saucer. For instance, all of the beers have their own serving glass, the food here is much better, and they focus on the quality of their selection rather than the quantity. I mean if you go to a bar that specializes in beer you shouldn’t expect fucking Bud Light to be on draft. My only hang up is the price, but if you aren’t hurting for cash, I’d say this is the place to go for beer. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 DAwoodennickel (2) hillsborough, North Carolina | June 4, 2010| Updated October 18, 2005 this is a cool bar in a really cool part of town with a tremendous beer selection rivaled by few | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 peteoreilly (2) | December 10, 2010| Updated October 18, 2005 Great selection, 4 beer wings are great and very kid friendly. Must stop before Bulls game, |
