Very comfy bar on the basement level. Non smoking which was nice, lots of people were there, an enjoyable local’s hangout. No food to speak of (some beer snacks), service was really prompt and professional. They had 4 beers on when we were there, all in good form. If I were a student in Olomouc, you could find me here anytime.

Awesome, homey atmosphere where locals drink and chat the night away. Feels like an uncle’s living room, or furnished basement. Their tap selection was short but well chosen and the beers were well kept. Service was prompt and efficient even though the place was packed. I’d come back and spend the night here if the beer list is enticing.

Olomuoc is a civilised university town in northern Moravia, not too far from the Polish border. If you find yourself nearby consider yourself lucky and make this smallish bar a well-lit park’s width from the centre your preferred watering hole. The principle is that there are five or six rotating taps that favour beers that are local over ones from far away and unfiltered ahead of filtered. So my trip found Poutnik 12, Lipnik 11 unfiltered, Policka Otaker 11 unfiltered, something disastrous from Kocour and local Moritz Maisel. There are snacks too and although they impose music it is for grown-ups.

Tiny cellar bar on a dark pak-side street serving an amazing rotating selection of obscure Czech unfiltered beers. A genuine and worn in where locals gather for a beer served with a smile and a chat.
