This place is pretty cool. it is a shame we only stayed for 1 beer. We went all the way to the back in the tiny single hall where they serve X33. Food looked good and our waiter was a lot of fun. Could have stayed here for hours.

Love this place; especially the small brewery onsite upstairs in the back (also a hotel?) Visited in 2009 and 2012. Huge beerhall with solid czech food standards and a small beer bar with more variety and quest beers (all of the Budvar styles including their yeast beer). A classic must visit in Prague.

Interesting. I love the cellar feel. For beer we went upstairs where special beer were served. Our serving girl did not speak any English. She was polite but it looked like she did not want to be there. Beer price was on high end for Prague but its worth it.

Visited July/11. Have fresh and non pasteurized (Tankovna) Budvar. The place is huge with also a brewpub in the other end. Overall a nice place, fun to visit.

Average looking interior. Smoking everywhere so be aware. Decent selection of a couple beers. The good ones will have to be gotten upstairs or next door. Service seemed good until they forgot my meal, which was 25% of the large bill. Mistakes happen I suppose, but not the biggest meal ordered. No argument on their part - plot??? Average prices for the tourist area of town. Overpriced in the beer store by a long shot. Go if you want to try the X33, but go to the bar next door instead - same ownership.

Saturday evening (March 2009) and very busy. We were found a table in a side room and missed the ’buzz’ of the main eating and drinking areas. No problem though, the beers and food were top class and we enjoyed the tranquility of the smaller room.
On entering you are straight into a small area with a seated lady behind a counter selling bottles, and ’stuff’ from the brewery.
If you turn left there is a bar which sells their own beer. Turn right, as we did and you are in the main hall and taken to a table, at least we were. An upstairs bar stays open later, so I’m told. It is a little wierd that they sell different beers on tap in different rooms. Their own X-Beer and Oldgott Barrique are however available in them all, but in bottle form only.
I bought both of their brewed beers on leaving (from the aforementioned lady) and drank the normal Budvar when inside, they have 5 different Budvars upstairs.
The food was lovely, I had a stuffed Pork Loin with spuds in a pepper sauce and my wife had the Stroganoff, nothing went back to the kitchen except the licked plates.

Always crowded and noisy downstairs. They serve excellent Budvar "Tankova", but I prefer to be seated upstairs in the microbrewery. Lots of tourists here too, but more cozy and intimate. I came for the 1466 and The Valentines Lager and was not disappointed! Great beers and good food. Efficient service. There is also a little botttle shop with beers fom other breweries. Never tried the upstairs, where Medvidkus own brewery is, but heard its worth the trip. Been in the great beer hall downstairs a few times to grab a Budvar or two. I rather enjoy this brew, both the dark and light lager. Unpasterized and "Tankova", never disappointing. Funny atmosphere, check out the table for the regulars, some look like they´ve been in there forever (a good thing, must be local chaps). The bar is quite a sight, most beautiful beer tap in Praha? Hellishly smoky in there at times, but great if you smoke yourself I assume. Very central and easy to find.

Visited the pretty crowded and touristy restaurant part first and was pretty dissapointed when I asked about the beer selection. Budweiser Budwar was my only choice, I was told. Fair enough, and it was excellent here. We ate and drank a couple of Budvar 12° (světlý ležák) and started looking for the microbrewery for some "dessert". We found it upstairs along with a much more pleasant atmosphere. Not so many people up here, and not as busy and noisy as at the restaurant. A couple of evenings later we stumbled upon the the Bar and ended up spending the rest of the evening there. The bar had a fairly good selection og beer, some from the microbrewery, Budweiser Budvar and some interesting bottled beer. I wouldn’t mind visiting both the bar and the brewpub again, but the restaurant was the weakest link in my opinion.
