The best place in prague.. A "pub" as it used to be in the past time .. The best tankovy pivo in town .. Two rooms with long tables , good food and however the central location still a locals pub ... Obviously you’ll find some tourist too (like me) but they tend to be rude with big groups or couple in honeymoon ... When you take (if you find) your seat you get immediately your pilsner tankovy at it’s best condition .. No other drink is served except for water ... You have to understand this place for appreciate it .. We ended there in a early afternoon and started to drink hardly .. After a couple of hours we were almost local in there and we did the same for three days .. The last night we closed the pub with the staff and we went on drinking with them ... Great !!! BEFORE HERE THE RATING IS FOR A 2012 VISIT .. REVISITED DECEMBER 2014 3 days on the row .. Again my best place in Prague for the reasons I wrote above .. And for sure the P.U from tank is still the best beer in Prague and one the best everywhere .. ! All the rest are bullshits !! This is the classic example that great bars don’t need wide selection ... P.s the tartar is gorgeous so they will get a higher rate from me ..

Great pub with ultra fast service - beer on table within seconds of arriving They only have Pilsner Urquell which I wouldn’t normally touch but when in Prague...................

Great find for a first time craft beer visitor to Prague! If you’re looking for authentic local culture while drinking very good & very inexpesnive beer...this is the place. The decor is great...the food exceptionally good...with very large portions. The star of the show though is the beer...when you first arrive you see a big burely guy (ex Rugby player?) pouring beers continuously from a multi tap beer station...all fresh, unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell from a "tank" (not a keg)...which comes to you the moment you sit down at your long shared table (what better way to meet the locals!). And from that point they keep coming..."fast"! Everyone gets a small piece of scratch paper set next to them where the beer server puts a "scratch" mark for each beer he brings you. Finding this place down a narrow back alley off the main square is half the fun...and worth every bit of the effort!

A que outside the Pub before they open is proof that they have a good consept. They serve a good lager they serve it fast and it is at a very fair price.

Classic one. Historically significant place with a very good beer. Prices are too high here, there are a lot of people and no other options in beers, but common you have to go here and drink some if you are a really beergeek.

Fresh Pilsner Urquell, friendly clientele and staff....Vaclav Havel took Bill Clinton here to show him what Czechs were really like. I want to be a regular here...absolutely loved it!

One of the most historic pubs in Europe and for sure the biggest in Prague. They only have fresh unpasteurized Pilsner Urq. and nothing else, but the ambiance gives a friendly feeling that you meet rarely. Always full of locals and there is no way to go there and not meet someone. A true must for Prague’s beer life.

A historic pub in Prague 1. Unspoiled with a frankly excellent atmosphere. They only have 1 thing - unpateurised Pilsner. It’s in good condition and it keeps coming. As soon as you finish a glass, they replace it with another. You need to stick you beermat over the empty to indicate that you’re done. The little nods and a flash of fingers to indicate how many you’re wanting allow you to cloak that you’re not a local which means you blend in. The place is jammed with Czechs. A refreshing thing in Prague 1 particularly this close to Charles Bridge. This was a truly excellent Czech pub experience. I’ll be back again and again.
