(Visited 09/2013): Über Tavern is located in the Fremont/Ballard area of northern Seattle on Aurora Avenue and 76th. I am unsure about parking options in the area as I walked, and the place is on a relatively busy street.

The interior opens to some table seating and there is a short bar in the rear. Behind the bar are well-lit coolers which offer a nice view of the bottled options. Above that are digital boards listing the 18 draught beers. There is almost inexplicably a fire-pit in the middle of the place.

On my visit that included beers from Southern Tier, Backwoods, Green Flash and Anacortes. Different sized servings are available. The aforementioned bottled selection is a couple hundred strong and includes Mikkeller, Brouwerij Strubbe, Lost Abbey, HOTD and Cascade.

Service on a weekend afternoon was very good. This is definitely a beer geek’s beer bar.

I did not have any food on this visit.

All in all this is in my opinion a must-stop beer destination for visitors to Seattle.

Awesome beer bar no doubt. Wicked beers on tap featuring not just local but Belgian as well such as De Struise. Friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Sat around the middle table that had a flame crankin’, shooting the shit. Just get here and have a beer man.

A really small place, kind of a dive bar, yet classy inside. Fairly expensive, but truly good bottle selection, all-lined up for your eyes’ pleasure behind the bar in fridges. Professional service with just a barman behind the bar. The draught lines are all electronically monitored and well laid out and easy to follow, focusing mostly on local, often rarer alternatives. Reasonable serving sizes letting you enjoy as many different beers as possible. I would probably come back if visiting Seattle, but would look at the beer list first and am not convinced that in spite of its strong reputation, I’d put it in my Seattle top 2 beer bars. The bottle selection is really, really good though.

Another great Beer bar in Seattle! Lots of local and rare delicious brews on tap. I enjoyed the Bigfoot 2012 barleywine while I was there. Lively place with a firepit...inside. Very knowledgable staff that knew there beers pretty much better than any beer bar I’ve ever been in. The beer menus let you know how much is left in the kegs and what I coming on next. I found them informative but a bit distracting because of the brightness. They have a great bottle selection in the coolers behind the bar. No food, but it’s okay if you bring in things to eat. Great place.

Great beer but the bartender seems annoyed at my questions about the beers and seemed overall mad to be bartending and helping customers. I was going to stay because I brought food with me but I left because of the weird atmosphere.

My favorite bar in town. Based on the neighborhood location and the "KEGS TO GO" with neon Uber sign outside one may be expecting a sketchy dive, but inside is a completely different story. Warm, cozy, with a charming wood interior and a fire pit in the center table. Great selection of big, beautiful beers. No food, but pizza place up the block delivers to your seat. There’s a bus stop right outside the front door (good both for transporting your drunk self home, as well as for spectating). Exceptional bottle selection.

After visiting Brouwers Cafe I thought all other Seattle spots were going to be nothing in comparison - WRONG. Uber Tavern, although strangely located next to a gun shop on a highway - is one of the most memorable bars I’ve ever visited. A smaller bar with a nice relaxing (almost cozy) environment with the big fireplace in the center of the room. The beer menu here is a beer nerd/stat geek’s dream. Much like Pony bar (NYC), everything is electronically displayed, only taken a step further. Each beer is listed along with details listing describing the brewery, style, multiple serving sizes, correpsonding pricing, and how much of the keg is remaining. Everything is offered in a smaller size which is convenient for sampling or just avoiding the brutalness of the high octane beers they have on draft. The list is diverse and spectacular. The bottle list is legit as well. Everything is priced extremely reasonably. A must - stop if you are in Seattle.

Located on an ugly strip of Aurora Ave, it doesn’t look like much on the outside but the inside is rather nice if a bit small compared to other craft beer bars in the city. The impressive tap list is heavy on the high ABV brews and best of all, you can order 4 oz pours of anything for around $2-4. Definitely worth a visit while in the Greenlake area.

This place is in a bit of a weird part of the neighborhood. It’s small and intimate, with seating for maybe 30 people. The tap list was actually quite pedestrian, and the bottle list had a couple of interesting beers. Prices were a little high...or a lot high, if you’re interested in bottles. The service was decent, but I likely won’t go out of my way to visit this place in the future. I did like the monitors telling you how much was left in each keg, and which beers were on deck, though. No food.
